Both these colleges are good options for pursuing a BCom honors. The quality of academics offered at these colleges is decent. However, being situated at the North campus, Daulat Ram has an edge over Gargi College. The faculty base is great at DRC. You will get decent exposure along with the advantages of being on the north campus.
I think comparing both IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta is doing injustice to these colleges. Both the IIMs are excellent at their own level.
If you consider the rankings then IIM Ahmedabad tips the list and IIM Calcutta comes next. But do rankings really matter that much? It might be possible that a certain college is on top of the list but inconvenient for you and a certain college is second in the list and is best suited for you.
I have seen friends who have rejected offers from IIM Ahmedabad and went for IIM Calcutta because it suited their needs better.
Some special features of IIM Calcutta that IIM Ahmedabad does not have are:
A finance lab with a Bloomberg terminal
Top notch finance faculty
CEMS-MiM programme (Masters in Management programme ranked 7th in the world)
So yes IIM Ahmedabad is the best IIM but IIM Calcutta is also not an ordinary one. Choose the one that suits your needs best rather than which ranks the most.

Getting admission to Pune University will be a different experience for you. It follows a CGPA system which is better than the percentage system. Life at this university will change your perspective, thinking, and overall personality in a good way.
Following are a few tips for you before starting your 1st year at Pune University:
Always explore your talent, studies might not be for everyone. If you're interested in dancing, perform in the fests and give auditions. Or maybe join NSS or NCC. It helps in enhancing communication skills.
Keep working on your physical health, so that you may feel great each day.
An acquaintance of mine completed his PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad so hopefully, he would be able to answer your question accurately.
The college management may ask full-time students to choose their specialization area before their placements for summer internships which are usually 3-4 months of joining even though technically you can choose your major by the end of the first year. My acquaintance had to choose his major before his summer internship placements.
If you choose PGDM Full time, then you will be able to choose your specialization from:
If you go for PGDM finance, you will have to learn the electives and core subjects of finance in your second year.
The distance education at Madras University is a mixture of good and bad. Here’s mentioning some of them which will give you a basic idea.
Recently, IDE University of Madras has revised their books. You can download the course material by entering your roll number, from their website
for VSSUT Burla branch ranking from best to decent: CSE > IT > ETC > EEE > Mechanical > Chemical/Civil/Metallurgy
CSE and IT obvious picks for placements — TCS, Infosys, Amazon visit campus. highest package was Rs.47 LPA from Amazon SDE (ETC branch, 2023!). but here's what most people miss — ETC (Electronics & Telecom) is massively underrated at VSSUT. strong faculty, solid GATE scores come out of ETC, and both core + IT company placements are possible.
one thing to keep in mind — VSSUT is remote (Burla, near Hirakud Dam, Sambalpur). no big city nearby. hostel is decent but basic. mess food gets complaints. median package is Rs.6.38 LPA — for an Odisha state govt college the value is genuinely great, fees are super affordable. best pick in Odisha after NITs easily.
There are various parameters through which it can be measured whether XLRI is worth it or not.
Money: You will be able to appreciate it more if you consider network and learning a part of it. About 200 students cannot afford the fee and must take out a loan to pay it to find it well worth it.
Time: There is also an opportunity cost involved. It's worthwhile if you believe that peer learning and classroom learning are a good use of time.
Effort: The true worth of your efforts becomes clear only after you see the results. Every year in XL, over 500 people recognize that value and trust their experience, and another group of students embarks on the same journey to discover their own.
Sacrifice: At various ages, people make various sacrifices in order to pursue their XLRI dream. Some postpone a wedding, some drop out of their campus placement, and some resign from a job they're not sure about. This has less to do with XLRI and more to do with the decision to pursue management.
You can't go wrong with XLRI if you believe a Management course will make a significant positive difference in your life.
One of my friends studied at Mount Carmel College Bangalore. According to her, the college life at Mount Carmel College Bangalore is pretty awesome. But it could also depend on the department you belong to.
You would not regret your decision of taking admissions here. The seniors are very helpful and the college staff is also friendly.
Various cultural events take place in the college. It is an all-girls college, thus the girls feel very comfortable on the campus. There is a lot to learn here, so go for it without any hesitation.
My uncle is an alumnus of NIT Agartala Production Engineering and never once regretted choosing the branch. While most of the students were after branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, etc.
He chose the least preferred, Production Engineering. He claimed that if you want to go for higher studies or secure jobs through GATE then the branch doesn’t really matter. Moreover, most campus jobs are from IT companies so the branch does not matter but your skills do. If you have already chosen Production Engineering, then wait patiently because the results will be great.
From my uncle's batch, many students moved on to pursue successful careers. A few of them have been listed below
Additionally, many others joined IT industries like Virtusa, Polaris, Capgemini, and Cognizant while some joined as professors in different universities after pursuing Mtech or PhD from good universities.
So the conclusion is, that there are a plethora of opportunities and options you are exposed to even in the Production Engineering branch of NIT Agartala.
