Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science( NITMAS) and Chandigarh university are both UGC and AICTE approved private universities. NITMAS offers 49 courses across 9 streams whereas Chandigarh University offers more than 120 courses in fields like Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, commerce, law, humanities, etc. Chandigarh University has also been accredited with NAAC grade A.

Academics and Faculty:

Neotia University:

• The university has ties with various international and national companies.

Both colleges have numerous advantages. However, the choice of college depends on an individual’s goals, expectations, vision, and feasibility.

LPU has been ranked 99th (overall) by NIRF and the Engineering department has been ranked 87th by NIRF 2020. Whereas Sharda University has been ranked 92nd for Engineering by India Today.

Admission:

LPU-

• At LPU any B. Tech at Mechanical Engineering aspirants must have at least 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English or, any subject that is equivalent to qualifying LPUNEST.

• For students, those who have secured 90% in 10+2 or 90 percentile in JEE Mains are exempted from LPUNEST and can directly apply for the admission.

Sharda University-

• In the case of Sharda University, Mechanical engineering aspirants must have at least 60% aggregate in 10+2 in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

• SUAT, JEE Main, or UPSEE scores are considered for BTech admission at Sharda University.

At Sharda University fees for B. Tech courses are ?1.59 Lakhs (1st Year Fees) whereas, at LPU the fees for B. Tech programs are ?1.37 Lakhs (1st Year Fees).

Placement:

Sharda University-

• For B. Tech programs at Sharda university the placement record was 91%.

• In last year’s placements, the institute witnessed the highest salary package of 65 LPA

LPU-

• At LPU the highest salary package offered was 42 LPA.

• The top recruiters at the institute are Google, IBM, TCS, Infosys, etc.

These are the major factors that you need to consider while choosing the institute. As for which institute should be better for you, you should decide that for yourself.

My cousin is currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering and his experience till now has been pretty good.

A CSE degree from Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering is definitely better than ISE from Bangalore Institute of Technology. 

After going through the reviews online, I would like to mention that both the institutions are good in their own ways. Here are some things I got to know from the reviews of both the colleges.

• The facilities provided by Heritage Institute of Technology are very good. 
• The teaching and non-teaching staff is excellent and the institute has a library that is well equipped.
• The alumni network of Heritage is strong and they will help you a lot when it comes to research.
• The placement cell of Heritage is also brimming with activity. 
• The engineering departments are under the leadership of the principal who used to be associated with foreign universities.
• Also, in the placement season of 2020, the CSE department of HBTU enjoyed the most success. 
• Most of the students who ended up getting placed belonged to the CSE department.

Therefore, you can choose any of the colleges to study, as they are both equally good, so studying in any of them will be a great push forward to your career.

SIT Siliguri and UEM Kolkata are among the top reputed private engineering colleges in West Bengal. Both of these institutes offer a BTech course for CSE.

Admission:

SIT Siliguri:

• It takes admission through WBJEE or JEE Main rank. In 2019 the closing cutoff for CSE was 365667 (JEE Main), 41551 (WBJEE).
• Students need 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 45% in order to be eligible.

The total course fee for the BTech CSE program is 4.01 lakhs. SIT has 120 seats for the program.

UEM Kolkata:

• Admission to the BTech CSE programs is through IEM JEE. Valid WBJEE scores are also accepted for admission. The closing cutoff in 2019 was 87014.
• The required eligibility is 10+2 from any recognized board.

The total course fee is 6 lakhs. The student intake for CSE is 180.

Placements: At SIT 88% of students were placed in 2019. Whereas, the placement rate at UEM Kolkata was 90%.

Top recruiting companies at SIT are Amazon, Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Prudential, etc. Some of the recruiters at UEM Kolkata are Infosys, IBM, JP Morgan, Nestle, etc.

Both the institutes offer decent academics and placements. It is up to you to decide which college will be better for you.
