Which is better for civil, IET DAVV, Ujjain Engineering College, or Medi-Caps?

SS
Samriddha Saha Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

One of my friends has completed civil engineering from IET DAVV and she was not happy with her choice. Following are some facts shared by her which might give you a clear idea.

  • Choose a college that comes among the top colleges as the top-ranked colleges. They have better infrastructure, reputation, and faculty. You will get to interact with different people with different career goals, which would help you to decide what you want to pursue.
  • Talking about IET, my friends from IET have straight away mentioned that the condition is quite disappointing when it comes to the civil engineering branch.
  • A good college is very important as it doesn't only provides you with the best knowledge but also helps to develop one’s personality.
Categories IET DAVV Ujjain Engineering College Medi-Caps
Course Fee 2.74 lakhs 25,151 (1st year) 4.85 lakhs
Highest CTC 16 LPA 8.2 LPA 8 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA 3.2 LPA 3.5 LPA
Recruiting Companies Accenture, Capgemini, etc. HP, IBM, etc. TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc.

Though the performance of IET DAVV is gradually lowering, it is still the best one among the mentioned 3 colleges. Placements are better at IET DAVV than the other two. Also, IET DAVV has a locational advantage.

Which is better for mass communication, Amity Noida or Jain University Bangalore?

JT
Jayant Thakur Posted On : January 24th, 2023
Studied at Amity University

Amity Noida, primarily because of its close proximity to the business. In comparison to an IT hub like Bangalore, Delhi NCR offers more exposure to the field thanks to the location of all the major news channels in Noida Film City. Delhi is a haven for those in the media. All the news media outlets find it to be a paradise as well. The majority of prime time is centered and originated there. The faculty members are truly incredible. They are extremely knowledgeable about what they are teaching.

Thus, Amity Noida is better than Jain University Bangalore for mass communication.

Which is better, a B.Tech in IT at IIEST Shibpur or CSE at IIIT Jabalpur?

MB
Mausumi Banerjee Posted On : July 7th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2020)

The B.Tech course offered by IIIT Jabalpur in Computer Science and Engineering is not good. The placement report is not that impressive. There are very few faculty members available for CSE at present in that institute according to one of my friends who recently graduated from this college.

On the other hand, IT in IIEST can be a pretty good option if you want to make it big. The infrastructure of the college is quite good. Students get the option to grab good internships. Microsoft hires from the campus. The diversity of students and faculty members present at the College is also good.

Here is a brief placement highlight for both institutes.

I have scored above 90 in class 10th but I got 79.5 % in class 12th. My college record is decent. Do I stand a good chance at IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta?

GS

PGP in Sales & Marketing, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

If your CAT score is above 99.90 percentile, you will have a decent chance of getting an interview call from IIM Calcutta.

IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore assign good weight to past academic records for the interview shortlist. You need to have a consistently good record throughout your 10th, 12th, and graduation to get a call from IIMA and B. Having relevant work experience of a minimum of 2 years is also important if you are targeting IIMB.

Which one is better, IIEST Shibpur for IT or NIT Rourkela for CSE??

DS
Davdeep Sengupta Posted On : June 30th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2018)

I have some friends at IIEST Shibpur and NIT Rourkela and based on what I heard from them, I will suggest that you choose the former. Here is why.

  • NIT Rourkela offers placement opportunities. Also, the companies that visit NIT R are more reputed.
  • Very few companies offer pre-placement offers to IIEST as compared to NIT R.
  • Many reputed companies have blacklisted IIEST Shibpur. Job opportunities available at the campus are quite low. Only a few mass recruiters like TCS, Accenture, Infosys visit the placement drive.
  • Also, securing a placement through off-campus placement will be quite challenging. You will have to have impressive coding skills to get recruited through off-campus placements.

Here are the recent placement statistics at the institutes.

Institute

NIT Rourkela

IIEST Shibpur

Highest CTC

42 LPA

39 LPA

Lowest CTC

3.5 LPA

2.53 LPA

Major recruiters

IBM, Samsung, L&T

Microsoft IDC, Aditya Birla Group

Go for IIEST, only if you are interested in doing research further, you can make some good contact there which will be helpful. But from a placement point of view, NIT R will be better for a CSE course.

Which is better for CS between the NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram?

AP
Ayush Raj Palit Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studies CSE at NIT Warangal 2021

One of my cousins, being a part of the institute, mentions that NIT Agartala has been amongst the list of most underrated technical institutes all over India. Since it is unfavorably situated in the North East side, which is commonly not the best hub for technical industries.

  • Dividing on the basis of every factor in hand, NIT Agartala is several steps ahead of NIT Mizoram.
  • In fact, NIT Agartala has been recognized better than NIT Mizoram in all possible ways.
  • Faculty, infrastructure, location, placements, college clubs and activities, work environment are better in NIT Agartala.

Categories

CS at NIT Agartala

CS at NIT Mizoram

Course Fee

6.31 lakh

5.43 lakh

Highest CTC

14 LPA

17 LPA

Average CTC

7 LPA

6 LPA

Recruiting Companies

Havells, Tech Mahindra, Vedanta, Capgemini, etc.

IBM, Intellect Design, Infosys, Amdocs, etc.

However, if you drop down to choosing between either of the former institutes, then going for NIT Agartala will unarguably be better than the latter.

Hope this helps answer your query, wish you all the best!
