Can a branch be upgraded in NIT Kurukshetra?

SR
Sumit Roy Posted On : September 2nd, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra

Yes, NIT Kurukshetra allows branch upgradation if you are unsatisfied with your current branch subject to certain conditions

  • Vacant Seats: The chances of changing your branch depend upon the vacancy of seats since the seat intake is fixed. Each branch has a specific number of seats allocated to it by the institute and that cannot be changed. So there has to be at least one seat vacant in the branch you want to get transferred to. A few students drop out of college or go to better colleges thereby vacating seats.
  • Demand for the branch: The next factor that will be considered is the demand for that branch. The more in-demand the branch is the lesser the chances of getting transferred. For example, IT and CS are highly demanded branches while ECE is least demanded.
  • CGPA: One of the most important factors, often underestimated, is your CGPA. Your CGPA for the first year decides your eligibility to get a good upgrade. The higher your CGPA is, the higher your chances of branch upgradation.

The factor that is in your control is your CGPA so start working on it!

How is nit calicut regarding placements in cse?

MS
Manjul Shah Posted On : March 24th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut (2019)

The placement cell of NIT Calicut is good and is equal to other IITs. The non-Indian companies offer more than 28 LPA to freshers unlike the Indian companies. So there always remains a misunderstanding among candidates about the salary package offered. They used to think most of the companies offer a 40 LPA salary package, but these only include the companies in the US. Even Google India, Codenation, Directi offer not more than 24 LPA to the students. Based on these salary packages offered we can see that placements at NIT Calicut are really good.

In the following table, you will get the basic placement details of NIT Calicut.

Category

NIT Calicut

Fees

INR 5.42 Lakhs

Duration

4 Years

Recruiters

Google, Tata Consultancy Services, Amazon, Infosys, IBM, Oracle, Intel Corporation, Qualcomm, L&T, Microsoft, Cisco, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture

Highest Package

INR 49.75 LPA

Average Package

INR 11.58 LPA

NIT Calicut was consistent with a 99% placement record, offering students an average salary package of 8.5 LPA which gradually increased to 9-12 LPA. Most of the domestic companies do not pay a higher package than INR 28 LPA to freshers. Even MNCs located in India offer packages lower than INR 40 LPA. However, the placement cell of NIT Calicut is good. Almost all students got a placement through a college campus. So, don't just go by the statistics, also talk to ex-students of that college and you will get to know the original salary packages offered to them.

Therefore, you can join the CSE department of NIT Calicut as it has a good placement record.

How do the classrooms at BITS Hyderabad look like?

AS
Aishwarya Shastri Posted On : December 19th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

As a second year student at BITS Hyderabad, I find myself eligible to answer your question.

The classrooms at our college are well furnished, spacious and air conditioned. The F102 and F105 lecture halls are huge in size. The seats are comfortable, and the lighting system is also quite good.

The campus library is, in fact, better than those at the other two BITS campuses. The reading section is spacious, beautifully furnished and in the best condition. The auditorium is huge and mesmerizing.

You will love to study at BITS Hyderabad, and won’t feel the lack of any facilities at all.

How is the test and interview in Symbiosis School of Economics? How can I crack it?

AD
Aditi Deshpande Posted On : May 15th, 2023
Lives in Pune,Maharashtra

The test and interview process for Symbiosis School of Economics varies depending on the specific program you are applying for. However, to ace the test and interview you should research the school and program beforehand, practice your interview skills, and stay up to date on current events and economics news. It's important to sound as genuine as possible for maximum impact.

Entrance Test: The entrance test required to be taken is the same for all symbiosis programs except law. It tests your basic knowledge of English, Math, and General knowledge in addition to a separate section on logical reasoning. The difficulty level is average and you don have to prepare for this exam rigorously. The knowledge you gained till class 12h will be sufficient.

Group Discussion: Before the interview, you have to appear for a GD round. In the group discussion, you have to speak on a given topic, generally related to ongoing events in politics, sports, and education for a fixed duration after which discussion with the other applicants is done on the same. The GD round evaluates your knowledge and confidence level.

Personal Interview: The personal interview is not very challenging and you are probed with general questions about yourself, your interests, reasons for choosing the course, extracurricular activities, etc. Sometimes, a few Math or Stats related questions are asked. All you need to do is answer the questions with confidence and involve in an easy conversation to clear the interview.

In conclusion, the majority of the questions will be related to your basic knowledge of economics and maths. So be prepared for current affairs in India and the world and study 12th std. CBSE economics to prepare well for the Entrance Exam.

How is NIT Surathkal metallurgy?

DN
Debarati Nag Posted On : April 13th, 2021
Studied National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2019)

Metallurgy at NIT Surathkal is a very good branch as there is a rising requirement of materials science and engineering and their number of students taking admission in this branch is comparatively less than other branches like Civil, Mechanical or Electrical so you can expect less competition in this field.

Categories

Metallurgy at NIT Surathkal

Course Fee

1.85 lakh

Placement Percentage

54%

Average CTC

7 LPA

The course is really good and it gives a strong base to the students for their higher studies which is quite important in this field. The department is now called Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and it focuses more on materials engineering. The professors here are very good at their job and are enthusiastic about teaching. They teach very well and create an interest among the students.

The facilities are not that great but are good enough as an engineering college. There is one SEM and XRD, metallurgy lab, materials testing lab, and a good heat treatment lab. The placement records are quite good too and it exposes you to various companies so you can secure a job in both core and non-core companies.

How can I clear my Maths 2 Exam in UPTU / AKTU / MTU? I have a great job and no time for this.

VV
Vaishali Verma, Posted On : October 27th, 2021
B.Tech Electrical Engineering, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (2016)

Honestly speaking, it is never possible to clear Maths 2 with just a one-night study session. Therefore it is suggested that you avoid such last-minute attempts and just rely on the book N.P. Bali.

This book contains some previous year’s questions. Try mugging up all examples and concepts thoroughly from this book and practice more on previous year’s questions. Also focus on the last chapter wave equations, heat equations as these are frequently asked. You need to dedicate just 2 hours daily upto 1–2 months to get prepared.

It is assured that you will be getting more than 70 marks on every next attempt. Try to cover all the pages provided to write, it matters most in AKTU/UPTU.
