Is BITS Pilani "Pilani campus" better than IIT Roorkee or IIT Guwahati?
In my opinion, both BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee are in the same league while IIT Guwahati is a bit inferior to them. Let’s discuss further on the basis of some very common aspects
- Core subjects: BITS Pilani does not focus on core subjects and the research culture is also very inactive. This is because of the extremely laid-back curriculum and attendance policy. The research opportunities offered are very less in comparison to IITs
- Placements: In this aspect, BITS Pilani definitely fairs better with its flagship Practice School program. Students of this program receive many PPOs from top companies during internships arranged by the college itself.
- Campus life: IMHO BITS offers the best campus life owing to the student-driven culture and great academic flexibility.
- Performance: The institutes can be evaluated on the basis of the performance of their students in various entrance exams. IIT Roorkee students score the best in GATE, UPSC, etc. while BITS Pilani scores well in CAT, GMAT, and GRE.
- Peer groups: The average student quality of both the institutes is somewhat similar with IIT Roorkee giving a slight edge to BITS Pilani in this aspect.
Both the colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them is illogical. I would say that if you are genuinely interested in CSE, then Pilani will be better for you than Roorkee. But if you aren’t certain of your area of interest then choose IIT Roorkee for its IIT tag.
How is biotechnology engineering in NIT Warangal?
NIT Warangal is an excellent place for your graduate studies. It is a renowned NIT that offers great exposure and ample opportunities.
The Biotechnology curriculum is designed in a manner that students from a nonbiology background can easily understand it. Moreover, topics like Fluid Mechanics & Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Industrial Management, etc. do not have any Biology related terms. Other topics in Biotechnology are Cell Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Bio-nanotechnology, etc. The topics are theoretical but you will grow familiar with the concepts within them.
As for the Biotechnology Department at NIT Warangal, it has decent labs. The course curriculum for Biotechnology is well structured at NITW. For a career in Biotechnology, the NITW faculty provides ample support and guidance for projects, internships, exchange programs, etc. If you want a decent career in Biotechnology, it is highly recommended to complete your Masters.
In case you do not have an interest in Biotechnology, like the majority of Biotech students, you can sit for campus placements at NIT Warangal. Certain companies like IBM, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, MuSigma, EXL Services, Futures First, UHG, Verity Solutions, FIITJEE, Akash, etc. recruit students from all Engineering branches.
Thus, a Biotechnology degree from NIT Warangal is a great choice. Make the most of your time over there and based on your interest, choose the right career path for yourself.
How is hostel life at the Hyderabad University campus?
Every day is a new day in the Hyderabad University hostel, but don't expect super-luxurious accommodation facilities.
- The rooms are shared among 2 students, which is fine because you get to meet a lot of new people.
- Find a group and hang out with them. It is not always a happy place because you will be learning life lessons, but it is certainly exciting.
- Apart from this, you will get the best internet services in your hostel rooms. It is available 24/7 and the speed is fantastic.
- In terms of food at the hostel, most of it is South Indian and the menu is the same every day. You might get bored with it.
- You will have a lot of fun, ups, and downs, and learn a lot. A day at HCU begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 a.m.
The hostel life at Hyderabad is quite similar to any government institute. You can enjoy more freedom and infrastructure when compared to private institutions.
If you have options to pursue an MBBS in AIIMS Bhubaneswar or JIPMER, Puducherry, which college would you prefer now?
Both JIPMER and AIIMS Bhubaneswar are equally good in terms of infrastructure and academics. While JIPMER has a magnificent campus, AIIMS Bhubaneswar buildings are more modern because of recent construction. Overall, there aren't many differences between the 2 institutes. The academics, infrastructure, and hostel facilities are somewhat similar. but if I was in your place, I would have chosen JIPMER, Puducherry for UG over AIIMS Bhubaneswar. While this may surprise many, I have logical reasons to support my stance. The one solid reason why I chose JIPMER was the beauty and the places to explore.

- The Rocky Beach with moonlight shimmering on the water.
- The Le Cafe
- Villa Shanti
- Villa Helena, Celine’s Kitchen, DisDis&Co, Satsunga, Le Club, Rendezvous, Villa Krish, Coromandel Cafe, and many more.
- A pretty resort, Ocean Spray
While some might find it illogical to prefer a certain institute just because of the restaurants near it, for me it certainly is a valid point. As a medical student, it’s very important to take breaks and these beautiful places will surely take you to a different world.
However, JIPMER is suitable only for UG. For PG, AIIMS Bhubaneswar is the best option because the language barrier is a major problem in the South.
Overall, JIPMER is an excellent option for UG while AIIMS Bhubaneswar can be preferred for PG,
What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at MSU Baroda?
One of my friends recently graduated from MSU Baroda. Let me share some of the points she mentioned about the college, which might also help go through your first year of college.
- The faculty of MSU are highly skilled and experienced in their respective fields.
- It will take some time to get used to the culture and the overall environment. If you are fluent in Hindi or Gujrati, adjusting here will be no problem.
- It will take time to get used to the daily food also as they have their unique way of preparing them which is quite different in every other state.
- The weather here is quite humid, if you are used to dry weather and extreme winters it could take some time adjusting.
- MSU as a university is a very open and independently cultured place. You will have the complete freedom to explore the place and build your personality as well.
- Many events are also held in the campus which brings everyone together. These include DJ nights, Navratri celebrations, and sponsored events.
- The day of the exams are hectic and teachers prefer their students to mug up information rather than actually understanding it.
Overall it is a really nice place. In your first year you will get to interact with lots of students and will also have enough time to explore the place. After your first year the pressure of the studies increases so, it is suggested that you explore most during your first year.
What are the pros and cons of doing an MBBS from AIIMS Bhopal?
An MBBS from AIIMS Bhopal has its own pros and cons which have been listed below

- You do get a variety of cases here as well, obviously excluding the covid times.
- Location-wise, AIIMS Bhopal is very promising considering the rapid growth of the Bhopal city.

Cons
- The patient inflow is less compared to other government hospitals.
- No PG quota
- Strict attendance rules
- Less developed in terms of fests, unions, protests, canteens, etc.
Overall, AIIMS Bhopal MBBS is a decent choice and will open doors of opportunities for you.

Among these, Calcutta University is better. The university sets the most difficult question papers. You need to put in a lot of effort to score even 60 percent. With the same amount of effort, you can score 80 percent in DU.
Naturally, CU puts emphasis on in-depth learning. CU students have a more academic-oriented life. While students of DU have the freedom to carry out secondary endeavors.
