At the undergraduate level, JNU only offers courses in Foreign languages. These courses include Persian, Pashto, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Russian, French, Spanish, German, etc. If you have done a diploma of one year or more in these subjects then you will be able to directly join the second year of BA Hons.
Like everyone else, I too was a little skeptical about NIT Durgapur during admissions. But as time passed by, I enjoyed my campus life and made numerous friends..
The campus will allow you to meet people from different backgrounds. You’ll even get in touch with some foreign students. Within a few weeks, you’ll make new friends.
There are many clubs at NIT Durgapur and you can join more than one. Some of these are- Music Club, Dance Club, Literary Circle, CCA, MNTC, Spic Macay, etc. There is no favoritism during club selections. You’ll get to know of hangout spots like NIT Duck Pond or Techno.
As far as academics is concerned, there are some exceptional teachers in every branch who will light up your passion for learning. For example, SG sir in the EE department. Academics has become stricter since course and semester structure were revised a few years back.
During your final year, placements will be the most important. Do not worry, the placement record of NIT Durgapur is good. You’ll find that most students study only a week before exams. But make sure you know your subjects well. Otherwise you’ll face problems during the placement season.
NIT Durgapur will give you freedom. But you’ll soon realize the responsibilities that accompany it. Campus life, especially hostel life, is great.
I am going to talk about what makes Manipal University special. As I know a thing or two about the institute through my friends who are studying there.
So, there are some of the things that may have been the reason why MIT got special status.

The three major reasons for the lower cutoff at BITS Pilani are listed below
Increasing Seats – In the current scenario, IITs are far more developed and are the top institutes in India. An increase in the number of students is directly proportional to the probability of success. So, BITS follows the same pattern used by the smart IITs in India
Increasing Fees – There is a general tendency among students to opt for colleges that are relatively more costly than others, which is evident from institutes like IITs, Harvard, and so on. BITS also started to follow the trend.
Third-Party Factors – As we know, most of the students were attracted to IITs mainly because of the brand name. So the competition level is very high here, so most of the students will choose institutes like BITS, which have lower cutoffs.
Yes, it’s certainly true that IISc Bangalore is just getting better day by day. In fact, its current rankings have a lot to say about its fast-paced development.
These excellent rankings are a testament to IISc gaining popularity. Being the pioneer of education it is, it’s hard to get admission here both at UG and PG levels. IISc has a thorough screening process followed by an interactive PI session.
IISc definitely deserves all the fame it receives. It was directed by none other than C V Raman, C N R Rao, Satish Dhawan, and others who were pioneers of Science in India and have produced innumerable notable alumni.
NIT Trichy was placed as the top 9th institution by the NIRF in 2020. You can expect the cutoffs high.
The closing rank for CSE at NIT Trichy in the previous year is around 5300 for the home state and around 1300 for students from other states.
The above AIR is applicable for General Category students in detailed stats below.
| Category | Home State (Male) | Other State (Male) | Home State (Female) | Other State (Female) |
| OBC | 2008 | 242 | 3860 | 1100 |
| EWS | 7770 | 153 | 7770 | 409 |
| General | 4728 | 781 | 10332 | 2757 |
| SC | 1520 | 198 | 2298 | 335 |
| ST | 1750 | 51 | 1750 | 51 |
The cutoffs will not vary that much however, there would be some changes every year accordingly.
One of my friends studied at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). According to him, studying here was his best decision. It is one of the best Government medical colleges in India.

Academics:

College Life:
You should also remember that the students of MAMC are the ones that make this college what it is today. The competitive nature and hectic schedule keeps you engaged and will eventually help you in the long run.
AIIMS Nagpur was established in 2012 and has grown at an exponential rate ever since then. Similarly, the older AIIMS were once new and they proved their credibility through their growth and achievements. New AIIMS have a better development rate than a new govt medical college. It operates from a permanent fully functional campus. The campus is beautiful and the infrastructure is state of the art being an institute of national importance with a huge fund from the central government. It also enjoys a locational advantage being located in Nagpur, the zero mile of India. Apart from the faculties, AIIMS tag, low fees, and excellent academics there are many more reasons why people consider AIIMS Nagpur as a preferable choice to other AIIMS
The high cutoffs of AIIMS Nagpur again are a testament to its worth and credibility so go for it without any hesitation.
Trust me there are no issues at all for a North Indian to study at KMC Manipal. Almost 60–70 % of students are North Indians. Almost everyone you have to interact with knows Hindi. However, you might face issues with clinical postings because most patients have only a basic understanding of Hindi. You will have to learn basic Kannada for which classes are taken in college in the second year.
The food is not a big issue at all because breakfast is South Indian comprising dishes like mini dosas, idlis, vadas. Bread, butter, and jam are served daily. Students are given rajma rice, Chole Bhature, and paneer once a week each. The roti served is very good and you will get Dal and rice daily.
Additionally, there are many that sell delicious food around the campus. There is also a mall within a 10-minute walking distance so you can visit Pizza Hut, Domino's, and CCD anytime.
