The final placement season usually begins in October with the Pre-Placement Talks (PPT), where the company introduces themselves to the students and their job roles. Companies start coming to the campus and begin with the interview process after that.
Talking about the academic assignments, students are given ample time to prepare and present the assignments to the professors, and in the meantime, they can visit the faculty for any doubts and queries. Looking into live projects, the students are offered a duration ranging from 15 days to 3 months for various roles, including research, HR, digital marketing interns, etc.
IMI Bhubaneswar is known for its specialization in the marketing domain. Despite this, companies are also looking for other domains where finance holds the second-highest share of placement opportunities. For batch 2022–24, 38.1% of the opportunities were from Fintech and the BFSI domain. The highest placement was 27 lakh 60 thousand rupees while the average is of 14 lakh 55 thousand. The lowest package offered where 8 lakh 50 thousand. The top 25% of placements were 19 lakh rupees. The college wins in terms of ROI as its fees are only rupees 1 lakh.

IIM Kozhikode witnessed a 70% increase in the number of offers rolled out in BFSI and a 136% increase in the General Management domain than the previous year.
The placement-related activities at IIM Kozhikode are held in 2 phases. In the first phase, the companies interested in joining the placement drive reach out to the placement committee, schedule a date and present their PPT to the interested and eligible candidates. Then the resumes of the interested candidates are sent to the company and they revert with the list of shortlisted candidates.
Then in the second phase, the companies visit the campus for the placement process. The slots for the selection process of various participating companies are scheduled by the placement company. This process usually takes 8 - 10 days. Students who are left to be placed during this week are subjected to the companies in a rolling process.

BFSI & IB made the most number of offers during the 2023 placements. Some of the major companies in the BFSI sector include Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Citibank, DBS, HDFC Bank, HSBC, JM Financial, Kotak Investment Advisors Ltd., NPCI etc. They offer roles like Credit Analyst, Derivatives Trader, Institutional Equity Research, Investment Banking, Product Management, etc.
The consulting sector witnessed prestigious companies like Accenture Strategy, Deloitte, EY, Infosys Consulting, KPMG, McKinsey & Co., PwC, etc, They offered coveted roles such as Analyst, Junior Associate, Management Consultant & Tech Consultant.
In the FMCG and Pharma sector, companies like Asian Paints, Colgate-Palmolive, Haleon, HCCB, L'Oréal, P&G, etc offered coveted roles such as Corporate Finance, General Management and Sales & Marketing.
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies runs 3 full-time courses: MMS, M.Sc. Finance and MHRD. Placement activities of each course are taken care by the respective placement committees.
