IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi are both top IITs. Both of these institutions are highly regarded by engineering students and industry experts. Both have an excellent CS program.

I would suggest you opt for CS at IIT Bombay because it is located in the financial capital of India. Additionally, Bombay has much better access to IT cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The placement figures for IIT Bombay are slightly better as well.
What is the standard of questions that are set in IISER aptitude tests?
A few of my friends have taken the IISER aptitude test and according to them, the difficulty level of the questions asked is equal to or less than JEE Mains level. They are mostly conceptual and there will be very few numerical questions.
IISER aims to test your conceptual understanding rather than your problem-solving skills.
- Maths - If you are preparing for JEE Advanced, then the questions usually asked in the maths section for the IISER aptitude test will be quite easy for you.
- Physics - You can easily solve most of the questions if your basics are clear. The question also won’t require you to do lengthy calculations. Physics questions are usually at the JEE Mains level.
- Chemistry - For Chemistry too, the questions will test your conceptual clarity.
- Biology - Reading NCERT textbooks will be sufficient to score well in Biology.
So, to score well in the IISER aptitude test, thoroughly read your 11th and 12th textbooks.
How can one clear the JNU entrance for MSc biotechnology?
Here are some of the tips from my friends at JNU that can help you score well in the entrance for M.Sc Biotechnology.
- Clear your basics on core subjects like Biochemistry (Enzyme Kinetics, Bio-Energetics), Genetics, Cell-biology.
- Practice probability-related questions. These are quite scoring and there are a good number of questions asked from these topics.
- Ecology and Evolution are the other areas that you should stress. If your undergraduate study included immunology developmental biology then you should revise those topics well.
- Also, practice from previous year’s question papers. Also, try to cover the last 5 years of GATE life science papers.
- Try to do maximum number of questions in both sections of the examination.
There are very few seats available, so prepare sincerely.
What score and rank is required in GATE to get into DTU for M.tech being a general candidate?

What are the good and bad things about BITS Pilani?
Every coin has two sides. Similarly, every unique feature of BITS Pilani has both its positive side and its negative side. Let me break down this into a few components:
- Hostels: The positive side is that you get your own personal space as the rooms are single-seaters. The bad side is that you might face trouble socializing and making new friends. Students tend to stay holed up in their rooms rather than exploring and making new friends.
- Dual Degree program: The positive side is that you are taught pure science or economics thus making the path easy for you in both research as well as placements. You also get to choose your favorite stream of engineering and even can get the most coveted CS branch. Additionally, you get an extra degree too. But the bad side is that the coursework is very hectic and the 2 degrees are useless if your aim was CS and you failed to get it. Secondly, you can’t take a minor in Finance. You will also have to pay extra fees for 1 year.
- No attendance policy: The best part about this policy is that the classes are so intriguing and knowledgeable that students themselves are motivated to attend them without any external pressure. The bad side is that some students who are overconfident don’t study and regret it later. The surprise quizzes are also very hectic.
- Freedom: BITS Pilani certainly instills in you a certain level of freedom so you are of your own free will to decide your timetable, teachers, your labs, you decide your degree. The bad side is that you alone will be responsible for all the consequences.
Now it is up to you to pick which aspect, the positive one or the negative one!
What is the percentile required to get into ISB Hyderabad?
In case you are enquiring about the CAT percentile let me clarify that ISB Hyderabad does not take into consideration CAT scores. It accepts GMAT/GRE scores only. Most importantly, the ISB Shortlisting process is profile-based. This means even with a lower percentile you can manage to get shortlisted provided you have an excellent profile.
There is no fixed cutoff for GMAT. However, a 700+ GMAT score isn't a must-have for ISB if your application is strong in other areas. According to an ISB spokesperson, candidates were admitted to the 2021 cohort with scores as low as 580, and as high as 780. So the GMAT score range for ISB is 580-780.
What is your opinion of the IIT Madras online BSc degree in data science? Will it lead to high paying jobs?
IIT Madras offers an online graduate program in data science, which has no age or stream restrictions, and is appealing due to the reputation of the institute and the high demand for data science courses.
The program is divided into three levels, with varying durations, courses, and fees.
However, there are several shortcomings to the program, according to reviews and interactions with IIT Madras students, including:
- The time factor: The program requires a long time span for completion, with the expectation of 10 hours per course per week, which may be difficult for busy professionals.
- The experience factor: The course focuses more on theory than practical problem-solving, which may be less useful in the industry. Practical project-oriented training and experience are more valuable in the current job market.
- The attention factor: The program offers recorded classes instead of live sessions, which may result in less individual attention and doubt clearance.
Other online training programs, such as Skillslash, upGrad, and Great Learning, offer courses that stand out in merit, providing live sessions, project experience guided by industry experts, and career advice.
The online BSc Data Science program offered by IIT Madras is costlier compared to other institutes offering the same program. Some other institutes also offer easier installment plans.
IIT Madras does not guarantee a job or placement after completion of the program.
Therefore, it is best to opt for programs that offer industry experience and save on costs, like the one offered by Skillslash, to ensure job opportunities in the future.
How is CSE at DTU?
The CSE branch at DTU is highly regarded for its curriculum and placements. Here is what you should consider
- Placements: Students who are proficient in Data Structures, Algorithms, and CS subjects receive plenty of opportunities. IT giants like Google, and Cure.Fit, Sprinklr, etc visit the campus both for internships and placements. Although the chances of CS students getting placed are high, DTU still hasn’t been able to achieve the 100% placement mark.
- Campus and hostel facilities: DTU does not have very good accommodation facilities and Delhi residents are not even offered hostels. You can find a PG nearby but that won’t give you the hostel life experience offered by other colleges.
- Course Subjects and Faculty: Unlike IITs, not all professors are highly qualified and learned. Some deliver lectures just for the sake of it. However, the relative basis marking here makes things easier so you can maintain a decent CGPA throughout.
- Computer Science Management: Like any other government institute the administration here is lethargic and matters are processed at a slow pace.
Ultimately, DTU should be your choice only if your goal is to get placed after enjoying good college life. But if you are a research enthusiast and want to pursue MS or Ph.D. in the future, then consider joining IIITD or NSUT instead.

Many of my friends and seniors opted for rechecking and got their marks revaluated.
