What are the differences between IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore?

AS
Akanksha Sinha Posted On : May 18th, 2022
studied PGP at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2019)

Among IIM ABC, IIM Ahmedabad is most preferred by MBA aspirants. The long-standing legacy is the reason why most people view IIM A as a superior option. However, all three of these IIMs are almost on the same level in terms of academics and placements. IIM Ahmedabad is most preferred for Marketing. While IIM Bangalore is well-known for offering good Consulting job roles. For Finance specialization, IIM Calcutta is the first choice for students.

The faculties and infrastructure are great at all three of these institutes. People who have the choice between these three IIMs, usually choose based on the specialization they are interested in.

Dinesh Saha Posted On : February 15th, 2021
IIT Bhubaneswar (2019)

One of my friends is an alumnus of IFIM and he had a great academic experience at the institute. According to what he has told me, the placement at the institute is good. The best thing about IFIM is its pedagogy which is up to date according to the industry requirements.

JAGSOM Bangalore, which was formerly known as IFIM Business School has observed record-breaking placements in recent years. The 2018-20 batch observed a 100% internship cum placement rate in December 2019. It also received 159 early final placements for 2021.

Placement Statistics:

The placement statistics at IFIM for recent years are as follows.

Highest Package

INR 18 LPA

Average Package

INR 10.79 LPA (PGDM Marketing)

INR 11.79 LPA (PGDM Business Analytics)

Total Number of Recruiters

70

Final Offers

229

Top Recruiters

Oracle, Arcesium, BNY Mellon

Highlights:

PGDM 2019-21 batch observed a steep rise of 12% in the annual salary packages and concluded the academic year with a 100% placement rate yet again.

  • It is the sixth business school to be accredited by AACSB in 2018 and has been ranked at 51 by the QS World University Ranking.
  • This year, the academic institute conducted its entire placement drive virtually and still managed to have a 100% placement rate. The recruiters were a good mix of the marquee and new-age companies.
  • There was a new observation of more niche roles that came about during this placement drive which included roles in AI-enabled HR engagement software, Digital HR, Fintech applications, Product Management, and much more.
  • Apart from this, there were a noticeable upward hiring trend within the IT, Edu Tech, and Management Consulting sectors.
  • Out of all the companies that took part in the placement drive, nearly 70% of them were all new companies. Multiple corporates also recommended immediate on-boarding of graduates.
  • The institute is slowly emerging as one of the most preferred destinations for new-age tech-driven companies like Jaro, Metric stream, Smart Knower, Scaler, and others.
  • Students have been offered roles in niche sectors as well including departments like Growth Hacking, Customer Success, Digital Marketing, and Social media amongst others.

The year 2020 has been incredibly phenomenal for JAGSOM as an institute. The institute also celebrated its silver jubilee this year by featuring 51+ bands for specialized masters in marketing and 101+ bands in the Finance Masters program.

How is CSE at NIT Rourkela?

SV
Sudeeksha Verma Posted On : August 9th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2020)

CSE at NIT Rourkela isn’t a very good option given that its curriculum is outdated and the pedagogy adopted to deliver modern concepts is very obsolete. Most of the foundation courses are taught like Maths which only cover the theoretical aspect of CSE. For the practical perspective involving implementing and developing new things, you will have to resort to self-study.

The faculty is very cooperative and assists you with innovative ideas and guides you in their respective fields. One of my friends and his batchmates set up a cluster to share large computations over a network and received enough guidance from the professors. However, as for the implantation details, they had to go the extra mile and figure out that stuff themselves.

In general, students who are keen to transform their rhetorical knowledge of computers into practical ones have to resort to self-study. So, the opportunities offered at NIT Rourkela CS are plenty if you make the right use of them.
