Is the CUSAT campus at Kuttanad good? How are the classes and hostels there?

DV
Damini Vats Posted On : March 1st, 2021
Studied at Cochin University Of Science and Technology

The campus of CUSAT at Kuttanad is not that good when compared to the campus at Cochin. CUCEK is located in Pulikunu in the Allepey district. But the campus of Cochin is the most preferred one.

Following are some reasons to avoid taking admission at CUSAT Kuttanad campus:

  1. The location of the campus is not at a prime location and is in a rural area. On the other hand, CUSAT Cochin gives you all the luxury and access to the urban lifestyle.
  2. The campus of Kuttanad is situated in a flood-prone area and faces a lot of problems in heavy rainfall. They have to close their campus in the heavy rainfall or flood situations which keep the life of students at a risk. The campus of Cochin has no such problems.
  3. The placement cell of the Cochin campus is much more active than the Kuttanad. The placement rate is constantly increasing.
  4. The faculties of the Cochin campus are exceptionally good and well experienced. They all are well qualified according to their domains and are better than the ones from the Kuttanad campus.
  5. The infrastructure of the Cochin campus is better than the Kuttanad campus. The labs of the Cochin campus are well maintained and have other facilities like sports activities, access to administration, central library, and many others. The students from other campuses visit the Cochin campus for the successful completion of their lab classes.

You can easily evaluate the condition of Kuttanad campus through the above-mentioned points.

Senior faculty members are extremely helpful and efficient in their respective fields of work. However, ad hoc faculty members are not capable of accomplishing the task. Overall, you will find great learning opportunities in the ECE branch, which will undoubtedly benefit you if you are on good terms with the faculty, as they can make recommendations for a few projects.

However, if the opposite is true, it will cost you dearly. Your relationship with your professors will determine your future at NIT Jalandhar.

Why don’t we have some good teachers in IIIT Allahabad despite being such a famous college?

KK

It would be completely wrong in saying that faculty is not good or not well educated. There are only a few teachers who lack spoken English skills. This is probably a great problem for students who do not understand Hindi and are more comfortable with English. If a teacher cannot speak English, it doesn’t mean that he/she is a bad teacher. Teachers anyways have more knowledge than us.

Each faculty have a lot of potential and capabilities. There are a lot of other aspects in which they outshine. People stuck with a mindset of criticism will never appreciate their teachers, even if they teach well.

Despite their poor English, they are good at speaking and understanding it and are always ready to help the students in whichever way possible. You can go to the professors and ask your doubts after the lecture is over. The faculty will definitely clear all your doubts, moreover, in English, in the language, you are comfortable in understanding.

All this is just because the mother tongue of most of the teachers and faculty members is Hindi and hence sometimes end up explaining the topic in Hindi. This doesn’t mean the teachers are bad at teaching.

Who is the best teacher in IIIT Guwahati?

AG
Ayantika Ghosh Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied at IIIT Guwahati (2019)

All the teachers in IIIT Guwahati are very good and are specialized in their own field of expertise. Being a student here, my brother says that every teacher here has their own teaching methodology. Some of the teachers have amazing communication skills while some do not but if you are determined to learn, it becomes easier and interesting.

  • In the CSE Department, GB Sir is considered to be one of the best according to most of the students. He has experience and expertise in his field. He finds what the students need and he is very good at his work.
  • Another teacher, DSB sir is very supportive and encouraging with the students. He involves himself with the students in class.
  • Ferdous Sir inspires students and tries to help out most of the students although being very busy.
  • Matam sir has great expertise in Computer Networks. He is very fluent, the students are very attentive in his class.
  • Moumita Ma’am has her own teaching methods. She has a systematic approach to learning which ensures that the students learn that subject.

There are other teachers too who are open to the ideas of students and are encouraging as well as approachable. The CSE department is very fortunate in terms of strong faculty.

Yes, a student can easily find the best faculty of IIM Lucknow.

One of my cousin brothers had an MBA from IIM Lucknow and he always told me that IIM Lucknow literally has good faculty members. They have immense knowledge in their respective fields. So there is no doubt regarding the faculty of IIM Lucknow.

He always mentioned the name of Mr Rajeev Kumra. He is the marketing professor at IIM Lucknow. He normally teaches all the important aspects of marketing. He has a huge industry experience; thus, easily relates the marketing concepts with the real-time industry exposure. Making him the best faculty in the IIM Lucknow, as well as the industry.

Another important thing is that he had won the best faculty award for the consecutive past four years in the IIM Lucknow. He is a very modest person than the other faculty members of this institute.

Prajakta Khandeparkar Posted On : October 18th, 2021
MCA Computer Science, Goa University (2014)

Goa University offers you with all the good aspects there are of a university. The students who have passed out from here will agree to it- about the faculty and placements as well.

  • The previous year students have the same feedback about the professors there like the present year students.
  • The faculty is very supportive and polite.
  • They make sure to keep you updated with all the latest technology.
  • They know what they are teaching and have in-depth knowledge of their specialised courses.
  • But do not leave it all to them because there has to be efforts from your side too.
  • It is always about give and take, it has to be both ways.
  • As for the placement, certainly, some good companies and IT MNCs come for the recruitment and if you have it in you, then you can crack the interview as well.
  • You will have to make sure to keep your result up to a level and appear for the interviews.

It is not easy but if you set your mind to it, then it is possible. You can talk directly to the alumni to find out more about the intricacies of the course and the college.

What are the ECE department professors like at the Heritage Institute of Technology?

SD
Sandip Dasgupta Posted On : September 17th, 2021
Bachelor of Technology Electronics and Communication Engineering ,Heritage Institute of Technology,Kolkata

One of my friends is an alumnus of the ECE department at Heritage Institute of Technology. Here is what he had to say about the faculties of the department.

Dr. Prabir Banerjee, Dr. Anindya Sen, Dr. Sambhu Nath Biswas, Dr. Sayantan Dhar, Dr. Shounak Dasgupta, Dr. Srabanti Pandit, Dr. Kasturi Mukherjee, Dr. Mousiki Kar, and Dr. Soumyo Chatterjee are all excellent mentors if you wish to go into the field of researching.

Not everyone who excels in research also excels in teaching, but some do, and some are absolutely exceptional.

Professors will be intra-departmental, whether you are a student enrolled in an undergraduate or a postgraduate program. Your Professors will be extremely important throughout the fourth year of your undergraduate program at Heritage.

Make sure you get connected with someone who can assist you in completing your Projects. The Final Year Project will be one of the most crucial tasks for an MS or MBA after your undergraduate education, or for an off-campus job application. Choosing prudently and, most importantly, having a doctorate to assist you will go a long way.
