Which is good both in placement and faculty: Amity Gwalior or LNCT Bhopal?

AJ
Anurag Jain Posted On : September 13th, 2021
B.E Computer Science,Lakshmi Narain College of Technology,Bhopal (2017)

If you are getting CS at LNCT Bhopal, then you should opt for it.

  • The admission process in LNCT is not a cakewalk in comparison with Amity Gwalior. Amity Gwalior needs 60% aggregate for taking admission. Direct admission is also done at Amity Gwalior.
  • However, in LNCT Bhopal, you will need to qualify for the qualifying exam and go through the online MP counseling process.
  • In terms of campus, the campus of Amity is very good as compared to LNCT. If you want to go for any coaching then both of these colleges are a little far from the main city.
  • In Amity, the teaching is good, the faculties are good. But the class timing and few subjects are often causing issues. The student crowd is mixed.
  • In LNCT, the quality of education is great. You will be among talented peers.
  • In terms of placement, LNCT is better than Amity as it is an old and reputed institute. In 2020, the average CTC offered at LNCT was 3-8 LPA and the highest CTC offered was 27 LPA.

So, if you have the option, go for LNCT.

Which college is better for Aerospace Engineering, IIEST Shibpur or SRM University? (Considering everything - from Faculty to Placements)

SR
Sourav Roy Posted On : March 29th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur

IIEST Shibpur is a well-known institute in India. Although it has faced some challenges in recent years, it has been making progress. Aerospace Engineering is the newest department at IIEST, having been established in 2011 by branching out from the Mechanical Engineering Department. Despite being a small batch, the department has a lot of potential.

  • When it comes to faculty, IIEST has an edge over SRM. The Mechanical Department, in particular, is considered one of the premier departments at IIEST.
  • IIEST also has better laboratory and infrastructure facilities than SRM, which is important for students pursuing engineering degrees.
  • In terms of placements, both IIEST and SRM are not doing great. IIEST has the excuse of being a new player in the game, while SRM has had the department for a long time. However, IIEST does have slightly better placements than SRM.

It's important to note that ranking colleges based solely on placements is not always accurate. Research output is often a more important criterion to consider.

IIEST Shibpur has better faculty and facilities than SRM, and at a much lower cost. So, if you're looking for an Aerospace Engineering college, IIEST Shibpur is worth considering.

How is your life going in AIIMS Raipur? Is it correct it lacks faculties and even students left it for government state medical college?

DS
Deborah Sam Posted On : November 19th, 2022
Studies at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur (Expected 2023)

At AIIMS Raipur, life is simply amazing. It has all of the amenities that any decent college should have, and possibly more. It has a large library, 10 to 12 cadavers, well-equipped labs, and everything else a medical student needs.

The faculty members are incredible and helpful. They are always ready to guide you. You should not let rumors mislead you.

How does it feel to study in HPU Shimla and what is the extent of cooperation from the faculty?

AP
Anita Pandey Posted On : October 8th, 2021
MBA from Himachal Pradesh University Shimla

One of my friends graduated from Kurukshetra University and is now doing her PG from HPU campus. Here are some snippets of her experience.

  • The quality of education at the institute is not good. It has been continuing with the same curriculum for ages.
  • The faculty of the university do not seem to have any intentions of updating with the world while they are very active in the politics of the college.
  • Infrastructure wise nothing has changed for many years. The library facility is not good.
  • The location is just great and the transportation as well. The university management has not been able to fully utilize the potential of the location.
  • The fees are very meager there (reason for the very poor students coming there of different quotas and categories who cannot afford more).
  • There are no facilities for sports. No proper grounds or coaches.

The University Institute of Engineering and Technology on the campus has a good name though.

Can you give a brief description of IIM Sambalpur (pros/cons, campus life, placement, hostel life, faculty, facilities, and anything else that you can add on)?

RD
Ridhhi Dogra Posted On : February 10th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur

In the middle of picturesque hilltops in Odisha, IIM Sambalpur is situated. Here, you can wake up to beautiful sunshine and humid weather every morning, which will give you energy. However, this morning brings with it a rush to finish eating breakfast and get to the academic block in time for your classes.

The Academic block is a short walk from the Hostel blocks. Our classrooms are fully equipped with air conditioning, comfortable seating, and modern equipment. We have experienced faculty from a variety of backgrounds, both in-house and visiting institutes such as IIM A, B, C, XLRI, and others.

After classes, your day spins around in all directions. In the evening, you typically attend meetings and enjoyable events from various clubs and committees that are put on by students. If you don't have anything like that, you can go out with your friends to the Hirakud dam, Right dyke, or take a long drive all the way to the main city for fun. You can also participate in those based on your interests, hobbies, or preferences for volunteer work.

Following dinner, some students participate in outdoor sports such as badminton, cricket, football, and so on, or indoor sports such as chess and table tennis, or watch television in the common room. You meet your academic groups, project groups, and so on to do the work, which usually takes most of the nights in the hostel block's discussion areas.

However, these moments of shared work always strengthen batchmates' bonds. Some of the pros and cons are mentioned below:

Pros:

  • IIM Sambalpur is located close to a large number of big industries, providing opportunities for real-life experiential learning for students.
  • The Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC) of IIM Sambalpur helps in the promotion of startup development and has recently partnered with Flipkart to support small weavers and artisans.
  • As a new IIM, students have the opportunity to witness the development of the institute from its core.
  • IIM Sambalpur has consistently been ranked 2nd amongst the new IIMs and holds a position among the Top 30 in the overall MBA Universe Ranking 2022.
  • The institute follows a Flipped Classroom methodology, which is a unique concept aimed at promoting overall development both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • IIM Sambalpur has the highest gender diversity among all other 3rd generation IIMs.
  • The location of the institute is away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan areas, providing a peaceful and calm environment amidst the rush of MBA life.
  • The IIM tag and connections to IIM alumni in the IIM community can provide valuable networking opportunities.

Cons:

  • As a 3rd generation IIM, the institute is relatively new and may take some time to fully develop.
  • The institute follows a schedule with working days on Saturday and Sunday, which may not be suitable for all students.
  • Students may be compared to graduates of older and more established IIMs, which may be an unnecessary source of stress.

What were the GATE ranks of some of the best professors from IITs/IISc like: Dr. Nagendra Krishnapura (IIT Madras), Dr. Shanthi Pavan (IIT Madras), Dr. Anurag Kumar (IISc) and Dr. P.S. Sastry (IISc)?

AP
Anubhav Kumar Pandey Posted On : July 27th, 2021
IIT Madras (2019)

My brother is an alumnus of IIT Madras. Nagendra and Shanthi Pavan were his favorite professors who taught courses in undergrad. It’s more likely that these professors have not given GATE. If you had gone through their profiles they have pursued their higher studies in foreign directly after their B.Tech in IITM. Both of them have got their PhDs from Columbia University, which is an Ivy League University.

Also, taught by the best professor then in VLSI (Dr. Radhakrishna Rao) would have quickly urged them to earn a Ph.D. from the "best" colleges in the world rather than just in India.

Is the faculty hostel campus professors of Malda Medical College West Bengal good?

JB
Jyotirmoy Bhowmik Posted On : October 20th, 2021
Completed MBBS from Malda Medical College and Hospital in 2020

The answer for this question depends on your perspective. If you are a resident of Malda, whether you are from a more developed area and the lifestyle you are used to.

  • Compared to the institutes in Kolkata, Malda Medical College is new.
  • As it is new, the hostels are obviously in a good condition.
  • The hostels are also well maintained.
  • If you come across problems, they will be taken care of as soon as possible.
  • There is a shortage of rooms in the hostels but that problem is being taken care of.
  • The rooms are more or less clean.
  • Food from the canteen is cheap but it is not worth it.
Categories Malda Medical College West Bengal
Course Fee (approx.) 40,000 - 1.24 lakh
Highest CTC 15-18 LPA
Average CTC 3-4 LPA

Lastly, it can be said that you can only trust homemade food as the food quality in the canteen is very bad. The campus is not that big and there is not even a playground on the campus. Also, the faculty are rotated in all the medical colleges of West Bengal so you will never find a professor in the college all the time.

Who are the most approachable professors at IIT (BHU)?

AS
Aarush Singh Posted On : March 7th, 2024
Lives in Kanpur

My brother pursued his B.Tech from IIT BHU a few years back. He often talks about Dr. SK Sharma of the department of Mechanical Engineering. Sir is an extremely honest and hardworking person, and a teacher in the true sense of the word.

He treats his students like his own children, and spends all the money received from the department in providing equipment for their projects. Working under him is an honor. He helps his students in every possible way, and suggests amazing project ideas with a lot of enthusiasm. He motivates his students to publish their research papers on great platforms, and helps them in every possible way.

Sir is a very approachable and good teacher, and my brother will forever be indebted to him for his support and guidance.
