SS
Shemall Soni Posted On : April 20th, 2021
Studied at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune (2019)

Bhartiya Vidyapeeth is definitely a good college but it is known for its engineering and law degrees and not really for an MBA. So, if you are looking to study for an MBA in Pune, you should research other colleges.

Some of the better colleges here are MITSOM, Balaji, SIBM, SCMHRD as well as PUMBA.

However, if you are keen on going to Bhartiya Vidyapeeth only, the faculty is not that bad and the infrastructure is good too. You can enjoy different facilities with well-experienced faculty members that will ensure quality education.

How is BIMTECH Noida for an MBA?

TR
Taaruk Raina Posted On : January 24th, 2023
Studied PGDM in International Business & Operations at Birla Institute of Management Technology

If your CAT percentile is between 80 and 90, BIMTECH is a good option to consider. The campus is vast, with all modern amenities, and the faculty is excellent. However, when it comes to placement, PGDM and PGDM - Insurance students receive the highest number of offers.

If you want to study International Business or Retail Management, look into their most recent placement records and make an informed decision.

How good is XIMB for rural management?

SK
Shivani Khanna Posted On : April 19th, 2021
MBA Rural Management & Marketing, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2018)

Rural management at XIMB is a decent option for students, which is even considered at par with the Indian Institute of Rural Management, Anand. There are several notions in the minds of people, which creates doubt about whether to choose Rural management or not. The points below give a clear picture of the course, addressing the benefits and the genuine outcomes of the degree.

  • It consists of all the subjects taught in BM and HRM, along with some extra subjects dealing with rural management.
  • You can go through the previous year's CAT cut-offs to decide which institute or stream is better. The cut-off for XIMB-RM is lower than HRM and BM, which makes you to remove it from your preference, which is a wrong notion. More than half of the entire class of rural management have excellent scores in CAT or XAT. Mostly, there are students with CAT cut-offs around 75-90 in RM.
  • The rural management course at XIMB is quite good and ranked close to IRMA. It is ranked second in the country after IIM Ahmedabad and 19th worldwide.
  • The majority of people believe that Rural Management students are hired only by development agencies and NGOs, which is another wrong notion. Several Consulting, IT companies, BFSI, and FMCG come to recruits RM students in placement.
  • People even think that Rural Managers have to work in interior parts of India. But the fact is that most RMs work in tier-1 or tier-2 cities, and visit rural interiors as a part of their work for monitoring their company works.
  • Engineering back-out from doing MBA at rural management, thinking that their work experience would be of no value for the degree. But, just like any other streams, work experience gets extra emphasis in rural management too.
  • The placements in RM are of average quality at present but are at rapid growth. Having an average package is still satisfactory, which will lead to a handsome package within two years. There are students from RM having excellent salary packages, which are the result of their hard work and maximum course extraction.
  • Students from IT companies have a good scope in RM as most IT or consulting companies working in rural regions have projects from government and micro-finance companies, and so are in great demand.

These are some of the key highlights and clarifications to most wrong notions about Rural Management from XIMB, which is indeed a good option having ample opportunities and great scope in the future.

What was your IMI Delhi PGDM interview experience like?

AM
Aniket Mishra Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
Studied at Goa Institute of Management

I have written about the interview experience of my sister who appeared for the same last year.

She reached the venue and had registration and a brief introduction about IMI by a Sir.

After the introduction, the candidates were allotted a topic for WAT. She got the ‘current USP of the market: offers more for less'. She wrote well including points related to competition, and technology reach, and gave examples of Reliance Jio.

Next, they had document verification and were given the serial number for the interview. She was ushered into a room with 2 panelists, a lady and a man in their 50s. The panelists seemed friendly and asked her what the other candidates told her about them. After a friendly exchange, they enquired about her work. She was also asked to justify her low marks in class 12 to which she confidently replied that she was busy preparing for IIT JEE. They asked her about the things she liked to do in her leisure time and her passions. When she told them that one of them was cycling, they asked her about the biggest Cycle race. They asked a few more questions related to cycling to which she had nearly no answers.

The topic soon switched to pities and they asked her about Maharashtra and Delhi CM and the controversies related to the Delhi CM. This too could not be answered by her.

They further asked her about her home state and related questions. Her extempore topic was ‘What Narendra Modi can do to stop engineers going for MBA to support his Make in India.’ She spoke about how investments can be made from foreign investors and the process of initiating a startup should become easier to promote entrepreneurship.

Lastly, she was asked about the other offers she had and if she was considering them or not and why so. She ended the interview by stating viable reasons as to why she was determined to join IMI Delhi only.

DK
Divya Kaur Posted On : April 28th, 2023
Studied PGDM from T. A. Pai Management Institute (2011)

My experience for the TAPMI PGDM interview was excellent, there were two people during the interview panel, one male and one female. As I had some work experience they directly started me asking the company valuations and how can we decide how valuable a company is, they asked me about the CEO and recent news related to the company, they asked me about my hobbies and a few questions related to that. They also asked me questions about my undergraduate, like Fourier transform and Laplace transform, as it has been too long since I did engineering I told them I am not able to answer these questions. The overall experience was great.

Is it worth spending 18 lakhs at NMIMS MBA (MUMBAI)?

GP
Girisha Pandey Posted On : July 27th, 2021
PGDM from NMIMS Hyderabad (2019-2021)

Do not believe in the ranking of the college. It will cost you if you are not a resident of Mumbai as the college does not have a hostel and spending this much amount for an MBA is really stupidity.

You will get an average package of around 12.5-13 LPA for core and 9-10 LPA for HR. Also, the college charges separate amounts for GDPI round and after the release of results, the college demands 9 lakh be deposited immediately within a week.

Also, it is believed that sitting in centralized AC and roaming in posh areas would not help in your overall development but exposure to different fields prepares you for the professional front.

Lastly, we can say that spending too much without availing facilities is not worth it. So abstain from getting admission here. Instead, take admission in other top management colleges where you get exposure to various other fields as well.
