Bsc computer science(h) in Hansraj College, University of Delhi

As explained by a B.Sc(Hons) Computer Science graduate from DU, there are the following scopes after the course:

  1. Job: If you are studying computer science at a college like Hansraj, KMC, or Venky, you may get a good job or your dream profile in a good company. If you believe and know that you will not be able to find work that is equivalent to your B.Sc Comp Sc, please do not apply.

How is the BSc course at Christ University, Bangalore?

N
Niharika Posted On : May 16th, 2024
BSc. student at Christ University Bangalore

I am a BSc. student at Christ University. My experience of pursuing this course at Christ has been a mixed bag.

The faculty for BSc. at Christ is average at best, and the facilities offered to students are not up to the mark. One can approach the respective subject teacher if one wishes to study and research in that particular field.

Some events organized by the university which are related to this field, are quite good in all honesty. Another thing is that Christ University imposes a lot of rules and regulations on students, which can be very burdensome at times.

Overall, Christ University offers a decent BSc. program, and you can opt for the same if you do not come across better options.

Is Taxila Business School Jaipur good school?

PS
Poorna Sengupta Posted On : May 20th, 2021
Studied at Taxila Business School, Jaipur (2019)

Many of my friends have studied there, let me help you decide whether it is worth joining Taxila Business School or not.

  • Location – It is located in a prime location in the business center of Jaipur, the biggest city of Jaipur. All the facilities of a city like good transportation (metro, buses, local autos, railways, and airports) are in close vicinity.
  • Infrastructure – It has a very beautiful auditorium, a huge swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, classroom, great mess and hostel, and a vast library. So you will get the best of facilities here.
  • Faculty – The professors are really good. Many have startups of their own and many have held top positions in various companies with vast corporate experience. So teaching is a good blend of practical experience and bookish knowledge.
  • Other facilities – The college has established a “Start Up Cell” for budding entrepreneurs so that they can get the best of facilities during their early years.
  • Placements – The college has good placements achieving a 100% placement record year on year. They have the highest salary as INR 22 LPA while the average salary was INR 12.5 LPA in the year 2019.

The college is very good for business studies and the students studying here have positive feedback about it. Though the teaching hours are a bit long and can sometimes get difficult to manage your time and schedule, it is only a part of the overall experience.

What is the toughest thing to do at IIIT Hyderabad?

AS
Aishwarya Shastri Posted On : August 2nd, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

I asked my friends at IIIT Hyderabad the toughest things they had to do there and most of them listed these two

  • Passing in PT and Yoga is one of the toughest things to do at IIIT Hyderabad.
  • Studying for the SSAD, a 3 credit course is quite challenging.

Most of them believed that spending 1 hour daily just for exercise and yoga is a waste of time for a future CS engineer. No doubt, exercise is important but not at the expense of one's academics.

If an average student gets into top B-schools like XLRI, JBIMS, IIFT, and FMS, how can he/she standout in the summer and final placements?

KG
Koyel Ghosh Posted On : May 15th, 2021
MBA Finance, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (2019)

If you are an average student then your previous experience, CV, and performance in GD/PI would matter the most in final placements.

Experience: If you have any experience then companies are likely to pick them for similar roles during summers and final placements.

CV: Focus on the matters the most, CV construction and articulation. There are plenty of sites on the internet to help. A good CV will help you to get many more interviews than other batchmates. One should put a lot of effort into that.

GD/PI: Preparation for Group Discussion and the Personal Interview should be a mixture of personal questions, current affairs, academic questions, industry or sector, company in that order.

  • Employers don't expect deep insights but expect high levels of awareness from you and cultural fit is a must.
  • If you are highly ambitious then the foreign banks will prefer you.
  • If you are hardworking and can demonstrate that, the local banks will prefer you.
  • If you are not afraid of rolling up your sleeves and happy working with small shops, rural areas, the FMCG may select you.

You should be able to articulate your interview to be able to demonstrate these attributes. The interviewers are usually experienced enough to see through the lies of the students.

Is it really true that KIIT University provides 89.9% placement since last 3-4 years?

AD
Ananya Dasgupta Posted On : July 25th, 2023
Studied at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)

Yes, it's kind of true that KIIT University has been recording excellent placement percentages over the last few years. This year it recorded 90% placements while last year it recorded 92% placements.

KIIT University has a very dedicated T and P Cell that is well aware that placement is the main criterion to analyze the college's worth. It works relentlessly throughout the year with HRs of different companies at different levels. Whenever a mass-recruiting company is planning to visit, thorough placement training takes place.

Here is what the placements at KIIT look like

  • The training for placements starts as early as the second year for BTech students. The third year is more intense training while in the 4th year, placements are given importance to academics.
  • Trainers conduct the Pre-placement Training on the basis of previous year papers and technical interview questions.
  • HR training is carried out by private companies/ Career Advisory & Augmentation Services (CAAS).
  • Mock interviews and mock-GDs are conducted to ensure students' dedication to placements.
  • The students are taught about everything regarding placements from pin to plane.

KIIT has managed to maintain a good placement scenario thanks to the relentless efforts of the T and P cell. The efforts are reflected in the following statistics:

Is it worth joining NIT silchar?

MR
Moitrayi Roy Posted On : August 24th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology Silchar

My father is an ex-TnP coordinator of NIT-Silchar, and I asked him the same question. Here is what he shared

  • Research by faculty : NIT Silchar has a few faculty who are involved in research and are known in their respective fields.
  •  relevant forums.
  • Research by students : NIT Silchar students work on materializing their fantasies through their research work. They apply the knowledge they have gained in fields such as machine design, Image Processing, Machine Learning, etc., and generate a lot of intellectual property.
  • Placements (CSE) : Big companies like Goldman Sachs, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Wells Fargo, SAP Labs, Samsung R and D, Snapdeal, C-DOT (PSU), DRDO, etc. hire almost 50% of the CSE batch. Last year, 82 out of 97 students got placed in the CSE branch.
  • Placements Core: Many PSUs along with some private firms come with decent packages. Companies like BPCL, HPCL, OIL, IOCL, ONGC, POWERGRID, HSCC, BEL, REC, DRDO(MOD, GOI), etc. visit NIT regularly.
  • Start-Ups: NITs get funds directly from the government so NIT Silchar has its incubation cell.
  • Campus Life: NIT Silchar campus spreads across 650 acres of Campus and is majorly run by students. Students manage most affairs from messes to Gymkhana Events. This inculcates managerial skills among the students.

So yes, NIT Silchar is worth every penny you spend here!

What is the scope of doing Post Graduation Diploma in Applied Statistics from IGNOU?

AC
Anwesha Chaudhary Posted On : October 17th, 2022
Currently studying PGDAST (Applied statistics) from IGNOU

PGDAST is concerned with applied statistics. As a result, it requires fewer proofs. There are more theorems, formulas, and methods to employ. While a Masters's program contains numerous proofs as well as an applied component. However, PGDAST will undoubtedly improve your statistical knowledge. Furthermore, statistics have numerous applications in computer science and big data/data research. As a result, it will undoubtedly improve your career prospects. This is especially true given the scarcity of computer engineers who are also statisticians. And statisticians are in high demand in information technology firms. So you have an advantage over others.

It does not entitle you to study higher mathematics or statistics at any Indian university or IIT. Because PGDAST is only a one-year program, as opposed to MSC, which is a two-year program. PGDAST can also be completed by graduates from any discipline. While a Master's in Statistics requires a minimum three-year Bsc degree in Math/statistics. The PGDAST program is a diploma program.

You should go for it if you want to learn statistics. It will undoubtedly be a rewarding experience. One year of effort is not excessive. You must be consistent. To be eligible to sit for term-end exams, you must complete assignments. Even if you do not consider the benefits of computer science, it will almost certainly foster a new way of thinking.
