How is the life at BHU?
BHU offers a vibrant campus life. Many cultural events and extra-curricular activities take place around the academic year. You will hardly find a day without any such activities happening on campus.
The campus is huge and lush green. BHU offers excellent facilities to students such as the university library, many cafeterias, various clubs, etc. Food offered at the mess is average. IIT offers better food in comparison. Bus services are available for students. Having a personal bi-cycle, scooter, or bike will be helpful, in commuting.
The academics offered by BHU are good and the professors are helpful. The examinations are easy in general but you will have to put in extra effort, to secure good placements.
Is getting into IIM Ahmedabad possible for an average student?

I will narrate an anecdote of a friend who took the CAT, a few months ago. He had done a B.E. in electronics and comm. from a top local institute in Bengaluru and worked for 10 months in an IT role. Nevertheless, he wanted to get into IIM Ahmedabad. He had no one to guide him and his list did not have a single IIM. It seemed almost impossible but he did not give up.

Which AIIMS is better excluding AIIMS of new Delhi?
AIIMS Delhi is no doubt the best medical institute in India. However, given the extremely high cutoff and competition for admission to AIIMS Delhi, it is quite difficult for a student to get into AIIMS Delhi for popular courses like MBBS and B.Sc Nursing.
Apart from AIIMS Delhi, one can opt for several other AIIMS across the country which have a lesser cutoff and competition. Choosing the better AIIMS totally depends on multiple factors such as the individual preference of the student, infrastructure, location, hostels, etc.
Based on rankings, AIIMS Jodhpur is the second-best ranked AIIMS after AIIMS Delhi followed by AIIMS Bhubaneswar, AIIMS Rishikesh, AIIMS Patna, and AIIMS Bhopal. AIIMS Jodhpur has been ranked 13th in India by NIRF 2023 followed by AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Rishikesh at 17th and 22nd positions, respectively.

Should I Leave IIM Ahmedabad admission offer for RBI Grade B?
Let’s talk about the advantages and disadvantages of these options before choosing one of them.
RBI Grade B -
- RBI comes only after UPSE. Considering the political pressure of UPSE, RBI can be the best job in India.
- The salary package is similar to the median CTC offered at IIMA.
- RBI has great job security, irrespective of the ruling party. Govt. policies like privatization won’t affect RBI.
- Posting will be always in the state capital.
- RBI jobs have a great work-life balance.
IIMA -
- Batch size of IIMA is over 400. You will have to do exceptionally well to stand out from the crowd and bag offers from top investment banks and consulting firms.
- The course fee for the PGP is INR 23 lakhs. This can be burdensome for some students. Even if you get an INR 25 LPA CTC, after paying education loans, tax, EMI, etc, you will have around INR 1 lakh in hand.
- Many quit investment banking jobs or consulting jobs after a few years due to huge job pressure.
- The Covid-19 recession caused many recruiters to withdraw their offer even for IIM A,B,C. There are a number of things that can affect final placements.
Factor in all these points to make the decision that’s best for you.
Is IISER worth it?
If you wish to get the most out of your college life, you will have to carry on with a very busy lifestyle. There will be classes, loads of lab work, studies, extracurricular activities, going out with friends, for dinner, ordering pizza, playing video games, movies, and a lot more things. You will be independent and decide what is good for you and what is not.
You get a lot of freedom in allotting your time to various activities. The teachers that usually teach you, make the most of the time and are experts for this. The labs are well built. The hostels are equipped with all kinds of amenities. The college has good sports facilities. But in the end, IISER is for those students whose major goal is to do research. For others, it is quite difficult then.
I completed my BBA two years back and now I have 2 years of work experience. I did a distant PGDM from NMIMS. If I clear the CAT this year, should I go for a regular MBA?
Since you already have a work experience of 2 years you should go for an executive program from a reputed institute rather than doing any regular program.
- You should never hold your career because of continuing with a regular MBA program rather than you should choose an executive program.
- For the executive program, you can choose a 1-year global MBA degree in collaboration with 3 B schools.
- They are Cardiff School of Management, UK, IIM-Indore, and Universal Business School, Mumbai.
- In this program, you will be able to learn from these big institutions, especially IIM’s.
