What is the typical life of a student at TAPMI, Manipal?

DP
Daksh Prajapati Posted On : May 16th, 2023
Studied at TAPMI, Manipal

The curriculum at TAPMI is extremely busy. The number of quizzes, projects, assignments, and committee work is enormous. Additionally, due dates are sacred. If you are a fresher, you go through a lot of change in terms of the development of corporate culture, and it's a pretty important lesson for an MBA graduate to learn. It can be challenging at times, but it is extremely vital. Even if you have worked, you put in more effort than usual (or you're forced to) and work to advance your management and technical skills.

You are given a lot of rigour, prepared to accept responsibility, and work in teams to complete some extraordinarily difficult jobs. A normal day begins at 8 am with classes that may begin at 8:30 am and end as late as 8:15 pm, with significant breaks in between; tests, assignments, and projects take up your afternoon. It would be a lot busier if you were on a committee or if it was placement season.

The good news is that Manipal is a great place to live and that's where you spend your evenings (at least some of them). In the midst of rural Udupi, it is a metropolitan metropolis with everything from 5-star hotels and bars to beaches and shopping centers. People party hard because alcohol is inexpensive, and those who work the hardest are also the hardest party animals!

Motor vehicles are allowed for both juniors and seniors and you must be on campus by 11:30 p.m. If you work till two or three in the morning to finish any unfinished business, the Night Canteen will save the day. However, at the end of the day, you know that you are preparing yourself for the corporate world (the placements are excellent), and that motivates you.

How is life at MNIT jaipur?

SG
Souvick Gupta Posted On : October 9th, 2023
MNIT Jaipur

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jaipur with a B.tech degree in CSE. She shared her detailed review which I have mentioned below

  • Infrastructure: MNIT Jaipur has Asia’s largest lecture hall called VLTC. It also has a new Computer Center (CC) there which has 24/7 open computer labs. The labs are fully air-conditioned and have an excellent internet connection. There are 9 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel and the facilities are average.
  • City life: Jaipur offers a vibrant city life with many good cafes and restaurants. There is also a mall in close proximity with a theatre and a decent food court. The best part is that the Airport is just 15 minutes away from the college and the nearest station is also about 10 minutes away. The crowd is diverse and you will find students from all corners of the country.
  • Campus life: MNIT Jaipur has many clubs and societies like the Music and Dance Society, Drama Club, Photography Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Robotics Club etc. They are a good mode of bringing like-minded people together.
  • Academics: Like any other NIT, MBIT Jaipur has both extremely experienced and approachable professors as well as the least interested ones. However, its coding culture is not yet as good as other NITs. Not many students are involved in good projects and coding competitions.
  • Placements: The institute had an excellent placement record over the past year. In 2022, the highest CTC stood at INR 64 LPA while the average CTC stood at INR 12.43 LPA. Some of the top recruiters included Adverb, Adobe, Airtel, Amazon, Analytics Quotient (Kantar), Apple, Arcesium, Bajaj Motors, BEL, BHEL, Box 8, BPCL, Capgemini, CommVault, Dassault Systems, Deloitte, etc

The college will offer a plethora of opportunities and exposure so is a decent option for CS.

How is the campus life at Jadavpur University?

SK
Shivangi Kashyap Posted On : October 4th, 2021
Studied M.E Biomedical Engineering,Jadavpur University

My brother is currently a 2nd-year student at Jadavpur University. Here is a glimpse of the beautiful experience he had till now:

  • Jadavpur University has one of the biggest campuses in whole Kolkata.
  • You will love the freedom that you get in the very aura of the place. You can enjoy everything, from strolling around the campus to watch a movie with your friends.
  • You can be a part of various clubs like the Debating Society, Painting Club, Dance Club, etc. to welcome and help you develop your passion. You will have enough time to devote to both studies and extra-curricular activities.
  • The Central Library is a 5-storey filled with all the books and journals you might want to read. Along with its separate reading rooms, it's surely a great place for a day of non-stop exam preparation.
  • Other exciting things to do at JU are watching the football matches, and enjoying great food at more than 7 canteens, distributed all over the campus.

The amazing campus, guidance of professors, and essence of college life can't be summed up in a few words. You won’t regret taking admission at JU and will call it an experience of a lifetime.

How did you spend your last days at IIT Bombay?

AT
Adwait Tejas Posted On : March 17th, 2023
studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2021)

Here is the experience of a student at IIT Bombay who has explained how he had spent his last days at IIT Bombay.

During the last 7 days, he experienced the most hectic and difficult days of his life at IIT. He was skipping almost a meal a day during those 7 days while developing a photobioreactor. This device converts sunlight into chemical energy using green algae which could be used for biodiesel and pharma-grade products. The experimental procedure was quite tedious and meticulous requiring measurement of 7 parameters every 4 hours, including the sweetest hours of sleep at 2 am and 6 am.

Testing all 7 parameters would take 1-2 hours, and he was left with just 2 hours before he took the next reading. He had failed numerous times in the process of building up this technology over the last year.

Whenever he failed, he would start all over again and wash the whole setup. After so many failures, he finally succeeded and was able to file a patent on the technology. Although those were the worst, hard, and most satisfying days of his life, he is happy today when he looks back, and that's all that matters in the end.

How is life at NIT Silchar?

DB
Devdutta Bose Posted On : August 25th, 2023
Studied at National Institute of Technology Silchar (2019)

At NIT Silchar, classes begin at around 8 am. Everyone rushes off to attend their lectures, mostly on an empty stomach. At 12 noon, everyone gets a break from classes and has lunch. This is followed by lab or afternoon classes on some days and free time on some others. Afternoon sessions are held till 5 in the evening. After 5, some people go for club meetings, some hit the gym, some play their favorite sports, and others spend time with their friends. This goes on till 7-7:30 pm. Sometimes, workshops and practical lab sessions take up most of the evening.

After that, it's time to go back to hostels, get some work done, take a bath and eat by 9 pm. Football fans like to watch games on the common room TV and gamers are on their screens till 12-1 am. Midnights are meant for birthday gatherings. This hostel schedule is for boys, it may differ for girl students.

NIT Silchar has been a great experience for me, despite coming from a totally different cultural setup. You’ll find people from all over India over there. You should go to Indie Lake with friends in the evening. The campus is really big and there’s a lot to explore. The tech fest Tecnoesis and cultural-fest Incandescence are much awaited. Although NIT Silchar has undergone a lot of improvement, frequent power cuts, uncertain weather, and forest-like fields surrounding the campus may irritate you sometimes.

Regardless of a few shortcomings, you will have plenty of fun with your friends during your time at NIT Silchar. Apart from studies, you’ll be introduced to night outs, college fests, and basically finding joy in the most random things. This place will teach you not just academics but also some valuable life lessons.
