Am I eligible for home state quota in NIT Delhi if I have completed my 12th from Chandigarh?
yes, you ARE eligible for home state quota at NIT Delhi even with 12th from Chandigarh. this is one of those things most people get wrong!
here's why: Chandigarh is a Union Territory, not a state. Union Territories don't have their own NITs. as per JoSAA rules, Chandigarh UT students are clubbed with NIT Delhi for the home state (HS) quota. NIT Delhi's HS seats are reserved for students from Delhi AND Chandigarh combined.
what this means practically:
- in JoSAA counseling, your home state will show as Delhi/Chandigarh UT
- you compete in the HS quota pool against Delhi + Chandigarh students — not against the whole country
- HS cutoff ranks are significantly better than OS (other state) cutoffs at NIT Delhi
- this is determined by where your class 12 school is located, not your domicile certificate or birthplace
just make sure your JoSAA profile correctly shows Chandigarh as your class 12 board location. if you've studied 11 + 12 in Chandigarh from a Chandigarh school, you're good. if you moved to Chandigarh only for class 12 from another state, double-check the residency requirements.
What are the requirements to get into IIFM Bhopal?
There are certain requirements which are needed to be fulfilled by every student in the proper admission procedure.
Eligibility
- You should score 50% in their Bachelor's degree or a CGPA equivalent.
- For students belonging to SC/ST/Differently Abled (PWD category), the candidate must have a minimum score of 45%.
In case there is a candidate who is still waiting for his/her results after completing their degree OR is appearing in their final year of Bachelor's- they can thereafter join on provisional grounds by submitting the documents required on time. This document has to be signed by the Principal of the candidate's previous college mentioning that the candidate has cleared their degree.

- A valid score in CAT or XAT. Based on these scores, you will be shortlisted for GD and PI round.
- Apart from applying to IIFM via CAT/XAT, you can visit the university's website and pay the admission fee - Rs. 1000 for the general category and Rs. 500 for SC/ST category.
- Based on your CAT/XAT score, you have to show up for an interview either at Bhopal, Bengaluru, Delhi, or Kolkata. Nevertheless, ultimately IIFM would be allotting centers to the candidates.

Can a fresher at JBIMS get a salary above 14 lpa?
Yes, it’s quite possible for a fresher to land a package of 14 LPA or more. In fact, my sister's batch had many freshers that were offered the best profiles and highest packages. Your lack of work experience should not hinder your performance and talents. As a fresher you should
- Be extremely confident while answering any question
- Have a great extracurricular background
- Have clarity of goals and enough skills and knowledge to pursue them
- Not key your lack of experience take a toll on you
With the right mindset and performance even a fresher can get a good package at JBIMS.
Can I get admission in AKTU Lucknow?
If you meet the prescribed eligibility criteria and pass their entrance admission assessment, you will definitely get admission in AKTU Lucknow. Visit the university’s official website to know the date of the entrance exam you are willing to pursue. They generally conduct a statewide exam, earlier known as the State Entrance Exam or SEE.
AKTU has both private as well as public educational institutes under it. If you want offers from well reputed colleges you will have to score wel in the assessment of the respective course.
There are 2 scenarios for admissions:

Either you get admitted through a regular counseling process. This will require you to pay the stipulated fees prescribed by the university. These seats are often referred to as government seats.

Or if you fail to get through the regular counseling process, try to get admission to the college of your choice through the respective institute’s management quota route.
But the fees of these seats are around twice or thrice the original fees.
Can I get mechanical engineering at VSSUT Burla with an AIR of 1.19 lakh in the JEE Mains (I am from general category)?
No, unfortunately, it’s not possible to get a seat in Mechanical Engineering at VSSUT with such a low rank. Usually, the cutoff for the general category is around 60-70k and your rank is far from the cutoff rank. However, if you are adamant about getting a mechanical seat you can opt for the branch change facility under which the top 10% of students of a branch can change their branch. For this, you need to secure a good CGPA in the semesters. But this option is very risky and unpredictable so consider all options.
Can you please set the preference order for the following MBA colleges: IBS-Hyderabad, IMT-Nagpur, XIME-Banglore, Welingkar-Mumbai, Bimtech-Noida?
Honestly speaking all the B Schools you mentioned are just glamorous brand names with no real value. The placement scenario is very pathetic here as the companies that visit are looking for students who can work at fewer salaries. Only the extremely meritorious students get good packages and that too is rare.
So I will suggest that if you have scored 95+ in CAT, then you are capable of more. So work hard and target a better B School next year. Remove these colleges from your list of options and attempt CAT again.
If you are not very sure about attempting CAT again then prepare yourself for a package as low as 5-6 LPA.
What is the selection procedure of IIM Lucknow?
- WAT: If you are selected for WAT based on your profile and CAT score, you will likely be contacted to proceed with the process in the city of your choice. The process begins on the scheduled day with a WAT in which you are given 10 minutes to write on a given topic. The subject matter could be abstract, current affairs-related, or, in rare cases, technical.
- GD: After submitting your WAT sheets, you will be asked to participate in a GD on the same topic.
- PI: Following the GD, the same panel will conduct one-on-one interviews with the candidates. The majority of the questions are based on the information you would have provided in your profile on the application, including your educational background, ECA, and work history (if any).
How do I apply for an eligibility certificate from RGUHS for applying to medical colleges in Karnataka?
In order to download the eligibility certificate from RGUHS, you have to log on to the RGUHS website.
On opening the website, you will be able to see a number of tabs. Out of which, you will be able to see the 'downloads' tab towards the right in the center. When you click on that, you will be directed to another page where you will find 'online eligibility application form'.
You will be able to follow through the instructions mentioned on the site and it will also require you to upload the necessary documents in order to get your provisional certificate. After doing all the needful, your provisional certificate will get downloaded automatically. Take a printout of the certificate and keep a copy with you for counseling.
Which one would be better: production in Jadavpur university, power in Jadavpur university, mechanical in Jalpaiguri, or government engineering or mechanical in Kalyani govt. engineering?
Choose the course that interests you, college is a secondary thing. Here are some of the facts that may help you in choosing the right branch for you.
- If you want to work in PSUs or Govt. sectors, it’s better to not choose Production Engineering as there are fewer recruiters.
- Jadavpur is the best college you can get through WBJEE. If you choose Production or Power in JU, you will have good on-campus job opportunities.
- Production Engineering is a branch of Mechanical Engineering itself. The syllabus will be more or less the same.
- Mechanical at Kalyani University will be slightly better than Jalpaiguri. You may not get lucrative job packages at on-campus placement from Kalyani University but in the long run, you will have a much better hold with your Mechanical degree. You can expect well-paid jobs in the future.
Your future will depend on the branch you are choosing so choose according to your interest. All these Universities will offer you enough opportunities and resources to prosper. It’s up to you to use that well.
With an 88% in 12th, can a GEM get a call from IIM Kozhikode?
