How is IIM Trichy?
Despite being a relatively new IIM, IIM Trichy has already established itself as one of the best among the newer IIMs. It currently ranks 18th in terms of average salary, according to the placement report and NIRF ranking. What is your review of Ahmedabad University?
One of my friends pursued his BBA degree from Ahmedabad University. His review regarding the institute is as follows.
- Regardless of the course, you are pursuing, you need to stay engaged in your studies throughout the year at AU. You can’t mug up your books right before your examination and score well. You will have quizzes, case studies, presentations, etc. almost before every class.
- It offers a wide range of courses. You will need to make your own timetable for the subjects that you choose.
- The faculty of the institute is helpful. You can talk to them about your area of interest.
- There are many clubs that you can join. Every Wednesday, different club events take place.
How good is the Chennai Institute of Technology at Kundrathur?
Chennai institute of technology (CIT) at Kundrathur has a lot to offer to its students. It is considered as one of the top colleges in Chennai. They have a marvelous infrastructure and scenic beauty. Studying here I can agree to the fact that it is considered one of the best in Chennai.
It is run by Mr. P. Sriram who himself is an industrial entrepreneur igniting a spirit of entrepreneurship among his students. CIT has given reputed engineers to the corporate industry. Here you will be encouraged to become a part of an innovative learning program, corporate training, center of excellence, soft skills learning training, technical skills learning and training.
They include one of the best infrastructure, best facilities, well-educated and highly professional faculties providing unique opportunities to their students.

What is your review of Karunya University?
A few of my friends have studied here and their experiences have been moderate. Karunya University has improved over the years but you cannot expect too much from here.
Following are some of the pros and cons of the university:
Pros –
- Good infrastructure with well-equipped facilities including hostels
- Climate is good throughout the year.
- Ragging is comparatively low.
- If you are a person who accumulates arrears this is the place for you. University will help you out, a supplementary examination is held in the middle of a semester just to help students clear their arrears.
- WiFi connection is available.
- You can choose faculties as per your wish
Cons –
- There is a morning assembly every day. This includes starting prayer, ending prayer and in between someone will pray for you from the stage. You should maintain 80% of attendance for Assembly.
- Management is not efficiently managed
- The grading system is not fair. There will be four to five faculties for the same subject.
If you are opting for Karunya University, then go only for CSE as only it is good. Other departments like ECE and EE do not have proper faculty members or infrastructure. Do not waste your time in such departments.
What is your review of Jamia Millia Islamia?
Jamia Millia Islamia University is one of the most prestigious universities in the country. It is a central university and offers a huge range of courses. JMI Mass Communication is among the best mass communication programs in the country. The university is also famous for fine arts, law courses, and architecture.
The huge university campus includes a library, reading halls, canteens, sports complex, auditorium, residential coaching academy, and hostels.
Academics offered is top-notch. Most courses have compulsory subjects like English, Urdu, and study of different religions, etc. The university arranges many cultural events, debates, games, competitions, and other extra-curricular and sports events.
What is your review of Goa Institute of Management?
To rate a specific school, there are five parameters to be seen -
- Faculty & Curriculum - The curriculum at all the B-schools is more or less similar. The difference lies in the type of faculty. The faculty-student ratio at GIM is 17:1 and the faculty is undoubtedly flattering.
- Peer Group – The cut-off for GIM’s CAT and XAT is nearly 85-88 marks. This attracts students who have a lot of talent and potential and belong to different backgrounds. The age barrier is not much for GIM as well. Therefore, GIM provides one of the best peers for further studies.
- Infrastructure – Goa Institute of Management has one of the best campuses across all West India and it is considered as the state of the art.
- Industry Interaction and Placements – The college offers an average package of almost 9.5 lakhs and the highest package goes up to 25.6 lakhs and that is why the placements seem satisfactory.
- Alumni -With alumnus settled in different industries with different portfolios, the Goa Institute of Management is considered satisfactory in this aspect too.
- Other Factors – Goa Institute of Management is accredited by AACSB and it also has an international exchange program collaborated with the University of Antwerp, Warsaw University of Technology Business School, Poland and Hochschule, Germany.
GIM also offers an internship which is in collaboration with the University of Antwerp. It is called The Joint International Internship Seminar (JIIS). The intensive Joint International Internship Seminar is a two-week program. This program is held every year in September.
Students that belong to Belgium and those of GIM work together on the practical projects in Goa. The program gives an opportunity to the students to have a work experience
GIM also has foreign language courses for its full-time students. These courses are offered in French, Portuguese, German, and Spanish. They are offered in collaboration with Alliance Francaise De Goa, Instituto Camões, Panjim and Indo–German Educational and Cultural Society and Communicare, Goa respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that GIM is one of the best Tier 3 colleges in India.
What are reviews about ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) placements and MS programmes at centres in Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata?
Having to know some people studying at both Simsree and KJ Somaiya and here are some things that you should know. They both are equally good.
- Both the institutes, for their MMS course, teach the same syllabus specified by the University of Mumbai. So, according to the content, there is no difference.
- This is generally a good thing that you are specializing in something that roughly 4 to 5% of the batch will specialize in.
- It is not as difficult for the placement committee to get companies with specific profiles.
- The institutes have been there for a fairly long time and both have a steady pool of recruiters. Therefore, placements are not very problematic.
- Having said that, placements depend on multiple factors, and nothing can be guaranteed.
- K J Somaiya has more full-time faculty members whereas SIMSREE has more visiting faculty members. But cannot say the same about the operations specialization.
Irrespective of where you go, your responsibility is to get better, participate in competitions, do certifications, and improve yourself holistically. The institute cannot impose anything if you have no intention of doing it.
What is your review of Poornima University?
It is a decent university. Poornima University ranking is 104 for overall by Indiatoday 2020. At the university, you will get decent exposure. You will get educated according to the recent industry trends. Different departments conduct seminars and workshops regularly. It also has a great infrastructure. The huge campus includes sports grounds, a solar plant, an observatory, etc.
What is your review of National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) , Surathkal?
NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.
The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.
NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
