Can I get admission in IIT Jodhpur without taking the JEE exams?

SC
Sarthak Chaudhuri Posted On : July 27th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (2022)

No, for every bachelor's course offered at IIT Jodhpur, you have to clear JEE Exam and get a rank that qualifies you for admission. Some IITs accept Bachelors admission with JEE Rank but not for engineering courses. For instance, IIT Madras offers a Bachelor's program in the Humanities department for which you only need to clear HSEE.

Here are the programs offered by IIT Jodhpur and the exams accepted respectively

BTech

JEE Main

MBA

CAT

M. Tech and Integrated M.Tech+Ph.D.

GATE

M.Sc. and M.Sc. + M.Tech.

IIT JAM

Ph.D.

GATE, UGC-NET, JRF, or SLET

However, every engineering course requires JEE rank for admission irrespective of any IIT.

PA
Pratik Agarwal Posted On : October 14th, 2021
BCA from St. Joseph's College , Bengaluru (2020)

St. Joseph College has been ranked as an A++ from the NAAC. In the near future, the college is expected to have achieved “university status”. In accordance with this development in the status of the college, the admission procedure has been improved and modified. Thus, the competition is high, and securing admission at St. Joseph College has become challenging.

  • In order to become a part of St. Joseph College, Bangalore, you would have to apply for the BCA course.
  • To begin with the process, you would be required to visit their official website and fill the online application form without errors.
  • Choose the course you are willing to pursue from the given number of courses.
  • Corresponding to your chosen course you would be notified about your written/ entrance examination or P.I (personal interview).
  • Make sure to prepare yourself for these rounds as it is a deciding factor for your admission.
  • Following it is held an entrance exam on the scheduled date for which every aspirant who has filled the admission form needs to appear for.
  • The college does not keep students waiting for the results and updates it later on the same day of the exam.
  • On clearing the exam, you would be called in for the interview process the following day.
  • Once you have successfully cleared the above-mentioned processes you would be able to enroll as a student here within the given span of time.

The results announced are completely unbiased and solely based on merit. You may consult with other students who have been a part of this college if you are still hesitant about opting for it.

How do I get admission in IIT Madras?

TB
Tithi Banerjee Posted On : April 6th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (2021)

Getting admission in IIT Madras can be a highly competitive and rigorous process, but here are the general steps to follow:

  • Meet the Eligibility Criteria: Before applying to IIT Madras, you need to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria, which may vary depending on the program you wish to pursue. Generally, you should have completed your 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and obtained a minimum of 75% marks (or a rank within the top 20 percentile) in your Class 12 board exams.
  • Appear for JEE: The next step is to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, which is conducted annually by one of the IITs. Only those who qualify for JEE Main, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), are eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam.
  • Clear JEE Advanced Cut-off: Based on your performance in JEE Advanced, you will be given a rank, and the cut-off rank for each program will be released. You need to score above the cut-off rank to be eligible for admission.
  • Register for JoSAA Counselling: After the results of JEE Advanced are declared, you will need to register for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process. You will have to fill in your choices of courses and colleges based on your rank.
  • Attend JoSAA Counselling: JoSAA will conduct a number of rounds of counseling, and seats will be allotted based on your JEE Advanced rank, choice of courses and colleges, and availability of seats. You will need to attend the counseling process, and if you are allotted a seat at IIT Madras, you will need to confirm your acceptance by paying the admission fee.
  • Complete the Admission Process: After accepting your seat, you will need to complete the admission process by submitting all the required documents, including your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, JEE scorecard, and other relevant certificates. You will also need to pay the fees and attend the orientation program.

It's important to note that the admission process may vary slightly depending on the program you wish to pursue and the category you belong to. It's advisable to regularly check the official IIT Madras website and JoSAA website for updates and notifications regarding admission.

SA
Sonal Agarahari Posted On : January 16th, 2023
PGDM from Indian Institute of Management Shillong (2019)

Joining IIM Nagpur is a decision worth taking. It has a good reputation, especially among the new IIMs. One of my cousins with a work experience of 3 years, joined IIM Nagpur and is glad he took the decision. He considered the following parameters to take this decision

  • Placements: The institute enjoys a 100% placement percentage The highest CTC shot up by 72.56% to INR 55.22 LPA whereas the average CTC increased by 20.50% which stood at INR 23.10 LPA. In addition, the average CTC for the top 50% batch climbed by 16.08% to INR 26.95 LPA.
  • Crowd: The institute welcomes a mixed crowd with a variety of academic, geographical, and work experience profiles. The individuals here are serious about their MBA who want to leave an impact in the corporate world.
  • Courses: IIM Nagpur provides both Foundation courses in the first year and a blend of your choice of electives in the second year. This enables you to specialize in more than one domain thereby broadening your career opportunities
  • Faculty: The faculty is well known for their industry experience themselves are IIM alumni.
  • Culture: IIM Nagpur has a dynamic culture owing to its clubs and activities. There are both academic and non-academic clubs that make learning fun and practical. Various corporate-level competitions are won by these students. The sports culture is also very dominant here with the non-academic clubs managing the mess, the infrastructure, and the events.

So yes IIM Nagpur is worth risking your career for.

Micro-presentation tips:

  • usually 2-3 minutes on a topic of your choice or assigned topic. practice confident, clear delivery
  • structure: introduction ? 2-3 key points ? conclusion. simple and structured beats rambling
  • common topics: your field of interest, current affairs, a book you read, a social issue

Personal Interview tips for Christ:

Which is currently the best medical college after AIIMS Delhi and CMC Vellore?

SK
Sanjana Kapoor Posted On : September 21st, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

The criteria for the best college may vary from person to person depending on your hometown, your goals, and your interests. Rankings alone cannot define a college as best or worst. Rankings-wise, AIIMS Delhi is considered to be the best medical college in India. But logically speaking it isn’t a very good choice for a South Indian who would have to travel away from their homeland and work again as hard to secure a PG seat. For them, JIPMER is a much better choice with an internal PG quota advantage and proximity to home.

Moreover, if you are a North Indian, CMC Vellore isn’t a very good choice either as you will have to travel away from home, learn a new language, and establish bonds. So for them, MAMC or VMMC is a better option. So the best college actually depends on what you want to do after college. For instance, AIIMS Delhi is a great choice if you want to pursue the USMLE route. It will provide excellent exposure and opportunities to its students.

In my opinion, the best options after AIIMS and CMC Vellore are JIPMER>MAMC>Seth GS, Mumbai>AFMC. These colleges are considered among the top 5 in the country after AIIMS and CMC Vellore.

What is the average package of the IIT Ropar CSE? Is it a good choice at an AIR of 2145 in the JEE Advanced?

DK

However, judging an institute's worth on the basis of its placements is a wise thing to do. It's best to analyze your own preferences and also consider going through the course structure of the courses.

Coming to the second part of your question, yes, IIT Ropar CSE is a great option for those at the mentioned rank. The department has a highly learned faculty and provides a plethora of opportunities to its students. So go for it!

How hard is to get admission in Fergusson College Pune for a non Maharashtra candidate with average CBSE board marks? (for FYBsc.)

RG
Riddhi Goswami Posted On : September 23rd, 2021
B.Sc Microbiology, Fergusson College, Pune (2019)

Your question is not clear as I am unable to figure out what you meant by the word “average”. Also, the stream for which you wish to get enrolled at Fergusson College, Pune should have been specified.

  • The cut-off score for the department of Biotechnology is usually more than that of Microbiology.
  • If you have obtained a score of above 90% in your class 12th board examinations, then it would be pretty easy for you to secure a seat for admission at Fergusson College, Pune.
  • The cut-off score categories other than General would be lesser.
  • So, if you have obtained a score of more than 75% and you fall into the SC/ST categories, then you may have a good probability of being accepted in one of the courses at Fergusson College Pune.
  • If you are unable to secure a seat for admission during the first round of your counseling, then for sure you would get admission in the later round.

Do not lose hope and keep on trying till the final round so that you can get admission in the course of your choice at FC Pune. For more details, you can visit the official website of the college.
