How are the placements at IIT Hyderabad for M.Tech in chemical engineering?
I don’t think placement statistics of one year are enough to judge the credibility and worth of an institute. It’s better to observe placement trends over the past few years to get a better understanding of the placement scenario.
My brother was a student at IIT Hyderabad till 2020 so I can give you information regarding the placement trends of the preceding years.
IIT Hyderabad M.tech Chemical Engineering placement trends 2018.2019 and 2020
2018: Only 4 students got placed from the entire batch.
2019
Out of 15 total students,
- 1 student got placed in a Data Science Company.
- 2 students got placed in a Chemical Engineering Design Company (Core).
- 3 students got placed in a pharmaceutical Company (Core).
- 4 students opted for Ph.D
2020: 2 core companies registered for the second phase of the placements meanwhile a couple of students got placed in non-core companies.
From the above trends, we can say that job opportunities have been improving over the past few years despite the lockdown situation. The number of companies is expected to increase in the coming years with better placement opportunities.
How is self-sponsored MTech CSE at IIT Hyderabad? Are we allowed to sit in the placement during the final year along with other student?
In terms of academics both self-sponsored MTech at IIT Hyderabad and regular MTech at IIT Hyderabad are similar. The number of credits required to be completed is equal in both programs.
Additionally, students of both programs are eligible for placements and no discrimination is done between the students of regular and self-sponsored MTech.
What is the cutoff of ISI Kolkata for M.Tech CS through Gate as well as written test?
ISI Kolkata M.Tech CSE cutoff for a direct interview is 770/1000 in GATE. But scoring 770 doesn’t guarantee that you will be able to get an interview call. Shortlisting for interviews is done based on the competition that year.
For written tests, ISI does publish a cutoff. Recent years’ record shows the required cutoff for MMA > = 51/120, and MMA + 2PCB > = 117/320, for general category students. To get a shortlist based on interviews, general category students need around 190/480. Naturally, the required cutoff changes each year.
How difficult is the m.Tech CS exam in ISI Kolkata?
The difficulty level of M.Tech CS examination in ISI Kolkata is slightly less than GATE. It’s will be easier to crack, if you are good at Mathematics. If you have a strong command of topics like linear algebra, discrete mathematics, probability, and analysis, scoring well in the examination won’t be difficult.
The test includes two papers i.e. MMA and PCB. The MMA paper will have MCQs on Mathematics. The PCB paper is subjective. PCB section A will have Mathematics questions. The rest of the questions will be from a subject of your choosing, i.e. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering & Technology. How is NIT Jamshedpur for an MTech?
Here are some of the facts given by one of my friends who studied MTech at NIT Jamshedpur.
- Academics are not very good and thus the pressure is also less in MTech. You should utilize your time and make the best use of it. You can study by yourself. Scoring good marks is not very tough.
- You should try for IITs. If you don’t have any better option than NIT Jamshedpur then you should go for it.
- NIT Jamshedpur is definitely better than some of the NITs. But there are some issues faced by students.
- There are still some accommodation-related issues.
- There is a lack of instruments in the department.
- Machines that are available need maintenance.
- MTech is only best for the Computer science stream. The other branches are not up to the mark.
- The students get to sit in most of the well-reputed companies in the placements. Internships are also provided to students. Other branches are sometimes allowed to sit with CSE in some companies.
The environment of students is good. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are present. The batch size is small. In a nutshell, it can be stated that NIT Jamshedpur is average for MTech.

- You want to enter the IT sector with your priority being a high-paying job. This is because IIT Hyderabad has a relatively flexible curriculum and allows you to opt for some CSE electives.
You should go for IIT Madras Mechanical if
- You are inclined toward Mechanical systems
- You have zero interest in coding/programming
- You want to do MBA, IAS, or other higher studies in foreign universities
- You want to experience a more dynamic and lively campus life

What is the procedure to join M.Tech Biomedical Engineering after MBBS at IIT Bombay?
You must submit a certificate as proof of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in qualifying degrees, or else you will not be eligible for admission to M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering.

Once your application is selected, you will be called in for the Written Test and Interview. The written test is conducted in the morning and results will be declared in the afternoon. Your interview will be conducted only if you qualify for the written test.
For MBBS students, the written test is of Mathematics only The syllabus for this test is in accordance with that of 12th class CBSE.
Pattern: The test pattern comprises both objective and descriptive questions
Minimum Rank in AIPGE- This is extremely subjective as it depends on the applications received during that head. The cutoff is decided based on that only.
IIT Bombay cutoff is slightly lesser but the written test and interview is quite difficult.

The placement scenario at IISc Bangalore for an MTech in CSE is great with a plethora of opportunities. IISc Bangalore has an active placement cell that conducts smooth placement drives every year.
