Saying that BITS Pilani is famous for its placements or education is rather lame as it’s a no-brainer that no matter how good it is, it cannot be compared to the old IITs in terms of research opportunities, faculty, and even placements.

But there is certainly something special about BITS Pilani that makes it a coveted choice despite the high fees. From what I have heard from my friends who are alumni of BITS Pilani, there is a magical effect the college has on its students with its dynamic campus life and the family-like bond you develop there. 

The people you meet here are each extraordinary in their own way and all have made their way to the institute through merit. The overall ambiance and the company of geniuses instill in you a feeling of achieving something huge and that influence is what makes BITS Pilani special. There is a positive pull that the institute triggers in you that makes you come out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself. To date, many of my friends from BITS Pilani talk about their college with a gleam in their eyes and cherish the learning and experiences of their life there.

IIM Amritsar is the fastest-growing IIM among all the newest IIMs established in 2015. The huge batch size, and better placements than other new IIMs like Bodhgaya, Nagpur, Vizag, Sambalpur, Sirmaur, and Jammu are a testament to the worth of IIM Amritsar. Additional pros of joining IIM Amritsar are

• Locational advantage: The location advantage for Amritsar is great with full airline and train connectivity from all parts of the country.
• Hostels: The IIM Amritsar hostels offer a scenic view from the hostel rooms. The IIM Amritsar hostels have better amenities and are more spacious than any new IIMs.
• Course Structure: IIM brand is known for its case study-based pedagogy across the industry and it's been. The course structure is rigorous and you have to fight for your spot.
• Placements: IIM Amritsar is well-known among top firms and has an excellent placement scenario. IIM Amritsar Placements 2023 has been concluded. IIM Amritsar's average package stood at INR 16.51 LPA. Students received job roles in Product Management, Consulting, Brand Management, Data Analytics etc. Some of the top recruiters included Adani, Adobe, Amazon, Accenture, Cipla, Cognizant, etc.
• Committees and clubs: Students get to join clubs and committees dealing with their area of interest. This helps promote an extracurricular environment among the students and gives them a break from academics.
• ROI: The Average package is more than 2 year full fees including everything from hostel to mess thus providing excellent ROI.
• Amenities: IIM Amritsar has a plethora of facilities from the library, indoor and outdoor games, and access to many key resources and websites 
• Guest lectures: For any MBA aspirant, Industry connections are crucial for growth and exposure. IIM Amritsar has 2 guest lectures weekly on average providing excellent exposure to its students.13.

Motilal Nehru College (MLNC) is a decent college. As a government college it has a good reputation.

• It has decent infrastructure with the largest library.
• It has the lowest fees in DU and the most affordable canteen. 
• It has a flexible attendance routine, so there is no issue.
• They also have a really cooperative faculty and staff.
• The student crowd is a mix of both good and bad students.
• There are many societies here.
• These include - literary societies, drama societies, dance societies, leadership cell, fashion society, placement cell, North Eastern students’ body, etc. These organisations are active throughout the year.

The one thing you should keep in mind is that no matter which college you study in, if you are hard working and dedicated enough to your studies, you will surely achieve great success. All in all, MLNC is not the best or worst of the colleges. It is good enough to provide you an appropriate education and has their own unique way of approach towards it.

Aligarh Muslim University offers decent engineering courses. The course fee is nominal. The total course fees for B.Tech is around INR 10.63 lakhs. Departments like Mechanical and Electrical have good infrastructure. The faculty base for engineering is pretty good. Most of the faculty members have years of experience in teaching. 

AMU engineering placements are decent. Students with good academic records get desired salary packages. Some of the major recruiters for the institute are Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, etc. 

Sastra University is one of the most reputed institutes in South India, especially for engineering. In 2020, it was ranked 50 for university and 38 for B.Tech by NIRF. I have a few friends from Sastra University. 

Here are some of the information regarding the institute that my friends shared. 

Infrastructure:

• There are costly research facilities, i.e. ASK1 and ASK2. There are plenty of things that you can explore if you are genuinely interested. 
• For branches like ECE, Mech, Civil, CSE the laboratory facilities provided are excellent.
• The classrooms have projectors.
• Sastra offers hostel accommodation for their students. The hostel facilities are decent. There is a post office and ATM near the hostels. The campus has two canteens i.e Canopy and Krishna Canteen, on-campus that offers decent food at affordable prices. There are a few eateries around the campus too.

Faculty and Curriculum: 

• The faculty base of the institute is great. 
• The curriculum was renewed recently. It is updated with the industry requirements.

Mark System and Scholarships:

Sastra follows a GPA system. Having a decent GPA can help you get scholarships and even a chance to sit for placement in reputed companies. If you have a GPA of around 8.5, you can sit for companies like Amazon, Cypress, etc. Although most companies allow students with a 7.5 CGPA to sit for placements.  

Placement: 

The placement record of the institute is great. In the 2021 placement drive, the highest CTC offered by the university was 27 LPA. 

Overall, Sastra University is great. It will offer great infrastructure, decent facilities, and placement at an affordable fee. 

BITS Pilani cannot be compared to VIT, MIT or SRM given its superior quality peer groups, exposure, and academic environment. The campus life is very vibrant and fulfilling and these colleges won’t give you an experience even close to it. 

As for NITs, only the top ones like Trichy, Suratkhal, Warangal, and MNNIT Allahabad can be considered.

VIT comes after NIT and is regarded highly because of its excellent research opportunities and facilities. The college is improving every year and if the resources are used appropriately, you can achieve big things here. Many top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Flipkart have started considering VIT students eligible for their placements. 

MIT is known for attracting students from affluent families. Its huge campus with an upper-class student body gives an altogether different vibe which students from small towns may find difficult to adapt to. 

Ultimately there aren’t any good or bad colleges specifically and it’s all about individuals' preferences and desires to grow. Colleges just are a stepping stone it’s you who has to pave the way to success.

Placements for ICE are both good and bad at NSUT-

1. Core jobs are very less in number. Core companies visit the campus in very small numbers, offer very low packages, and you may end up working in some remote location.
2. However, the overall placements are quite good and ICE students can get placed in multiple profiles like finance, marketing, analyst, software developer, etc. These profiles offer good packages and a metropolitan work location, mostly the Delhi NCR region. But for these offers, you will face competition from all the branches. You will get placed in a renowned organization if you start preparing from your 2nd year onwards. These profiles aren’t branch specific so there is a high competition. 

Apart from talent, your grades will play a huge role during the placement process. Maintain an 8+ CGPA to be able to sit for majority company placements. Also, for candidates of equal caliber, the company uses CGPA as an important deciding factor during the selection process. 

Thus, as an ICE student at NSUT , you will get good placement opportunities in various sectors other than your core sector.
