I have 2 years and 9 months of experience in IT. What should I choose between Great Lakes PGPM and TAPMI?

Since you have work experience an executive MBA program would better suit your career goals. Hence, you should go with the Great Lakes PGPM program. The placement figures are also better for the PGPM program at Great Lakes compared to TAPMI’s regular MBA program and the duration of the program is also lesser (1 year).

Is Vignan University, Guntur a good college for a B.Tech in bioinformatics or a B.Tech in biotech? How good are the placements and scope for higher studies abroad?

SM
Sneha Mudgal Posted On : September 9th, 2021
B.Sc from Vignan University

All the private universities in India, except maybe 2–3, are trying their level best to establish themselves and Vignan is no exception. If you are considering joining the university then you should know the following.

  • Fees are high so plan well before joining. For a 4-year long B.Tech, the total course fee is around 9 lakhs.
  • Second, the syllabus keeps getting updated each year. This makes covering the syllabus, a bit tricky.
  • The same faculty will set the question paper so I think getting through with good grades won't be an issue.

Finally, you should join biotech only if you wish to study MS abroad. Otherwise, don’t join the institute.

What are the options available for an MBA graduate from IIM to settle in Visakhapatnam?

KK
Kedar Ravindra Kalokhe Posted On : January 24th, 2023

Your job prospects are directly related to your line of specialization and the related opportunities available. It all depends on the companies whose requirements match your profile.

Many small cities and towns still lack job prospects for an MBA graduate even if he has the degree of an IIM. So it’s better you grab the best opportunities during the final placements itself. After that, depending on your performance you can climb the ladder and avail a plethora of job opportunities.

So if you are planning to settle in Visakhapatnam your prospects are a little bleak because it is a small city.

studied at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur

VNIT Nagpur is a better option for CS. The CS department has excellent professors. The labs are well-equipped to carry out research projects. The institute organizes many coding related events throughout the academic year. If you are interested in a professor's area of research, you can approach them about it.

Between general PGDM from jaipuria Noida and PGDM in retail management from BIMTECH greater Noida, which one would be better?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : May 10th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

JIM and BIMTECH, Noida provide PGDM programs. Your aim and interests determine the program which you should opt for.

JIM Noida's PGDM is ideal for Gen. Man. career seekers. The 2nd year provides specialisations in finance, marketing, human resources, operations, and strategy.

BIMTECH, Greater Noida's PGDM-RM can help you break into the retail industry. You can learn retail operations, supply chain management, customer behaviour, and marketing. It offers internships as well as industrial interactions.

When taking everything into consideration, I believe that the brand value of BIMTECH gives it a significant advantage over JIM in terms of value as well as the brand. They were also able to achieve 100% placement rate for the 2023 batch. The Highest CTC offered was somewhere around 24 LPA.

Which is better, NIT Surathkal for mechanical or IIEST Shibpur for CSE?

AM
Avni Mallick Posted On : July 26th, 2021
B.Tech. Mining Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2021)

Both NIT Surathkal and IIEST Shibpur are amazing institutes and the departments of the mentioned branches are at their best. The deciding factor here is your branch of interest.

  • If you are inclined towards Mechanical Engineering, you must opt for NITK. If you are more into coding IIEST must be your choice.
  • Another factor to look for if you are not that specific about the branch to study is the institute's proximity to your home.
  • The one which is easily accessible must be preferably your choice.
  • Shibpur is very well connected to all major cities. Frequent industry visits are conducted.
  • NITK Surathkal is located in Karnataka. Their campus is the best. They even have a beach surrounding its campus.
Categories CSE at IIEST Shibpur Mechanical at NIT Surathkal
Course Fee 5.68 lakhs 5.40 lakhs
Highest CTC 29-35 LPA 28 LPA
Average CTC 17-18 LPA 10-15 LPA
Recruiting Companies Deloitte, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc. L&T, JP Morgan, IOCL, GAIL, etc.

But when we compare placements in the CSE branch of IIEST Shibpur to the mechanical branch of NITK, IIEST Shibpur wins hands down. The decision here ultimately comes down to you. Consider all the above factors and choose wisely.

If you don’t have any particular inclination toward Mechanical Engineering, then Civil Engineering from IIT Guwahati will be the better choice. It is an old IIT and offers good infrastructure, faculty, and a well-developed alumni base.

According to the statistics of recent years, IIT Guwahati Civil Engineering placement statistics are pretty good. Around 80% of the students get placed each year and the average CTC offered to the students of this branch is INR 17.5 LPA.
