Yes, B.Com general students can do MBA. The eligibility criteria for MBA program is a bachelor's degree of minimum 3-years in any discipline after 10+2, from a recognized board. MBA is a globally recognized degree that can be pursued by students from any field of study, i.e. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.
In order to get admission, you need to standardized tests such as CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, etc. MBA doesn’t have any such age limit.

Can I get an admission in Lovely Professional University without the LPU NEST?
There are two ways to look at this. LPU NEST is a compulsory entrance exam to seek admission to any of the engineering, MBA or any other courses at LPU. You can skip to appear for LPU NEST if you have qualified any national level entrance exam for the course you are applying to. If you have a JEE Main score for BTech or CAT/CMAT etc for MBA you can get direct admission at LPU.
However, in my opinion there are some advantages of appearing for the LPU NEST. If you qualify for it, you will eligible for a scholarship. The admission process is also very simple as everything is uploaded to the portal when you apply for LPU NEST and you just have to get it verified once selected.
LPUNEST is mandatory for some of the courses and is the minimum eligibility criteria as well, that you must fulfil. But for some courses it is only a scholarship test. So it is beneficial to appear for it as it will improve your scholarship as well.
Is BITS Hyderabad better than VIT Vellore for CS?
BITS Hyderabad is definitely better than VIT Vellore for CS. Here are some reasons for the same-
- Coding Culture- Even VIT Vellore has a decent coding culture. But when it comes to any of the BITS campuses, the coding culture over there is far more superior. The environment at BITS is such that one feels extremely motivated to learn and build new stuff. The BITS faculties are highly qualified and supportive.
- Crowd- Getting into BITS is difficult, and there are no NRI or Management quota seats. Each one of the students gets in through pure merit. Because of these reasons the BITS Hyderabad crowd is overall better than the VIT Vellore crowd.
- Placements- The Computer Science department of BITS Hyderabad witnesses better placements than VIT Vellore. But even VIT Vellore is good for CS placements.
- Course Intake- VIT Vellore intakes a lot more students on a yearly basis. Though the competition is much higher at BITS Hyderabad, the end results are more fulfilling for each one of its students.
Thus, I would recommend you choose BITS Hyderabad for your B.E. in CS.
How is NIT Puducherry?
NIT Puducherry is a new NIT but offers decent academics. It is currently running from its’s permanent campus in Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal.
- The campus is 256 acres big. The hostel rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and clean. The food quality offered at the mess is average, there are two canteens inside the campus. The college and hostels have high-speed internet facilities. The campus has a small departmental store that stays open from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm.
- The student crowd on the campus is diverse. You will meet people from all across the country. On the campus, all festivals are celebrated, be it Holi, Pongal, Onam and so on.
- NIT Puducherry organizes a cultural festival, i.e. ‘Le-Ceil’ in October. In March, ‘Gyanith’ - the tech fest is conducted.
- The institute has a good faculty base. Most of the professors, and lab assistants are quite helpful.
- NIT Puducherry placements have been good over the last few years. According to the recent placement highlights, students receive a median CTC of INR 6 LPA. Optum, ABB, BYJU’s are some of the major recruiters.
In terms of academics, facilities, and placements, NIT Puducherry is a decent institute.
