The West Bengal Medical Counseling Committee has released the Special Stray Vacancy Round Counseling for MBBS and BDS courses. The registration process begins on November 25, 2024, from 11 AM onwards.

The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, has announced the schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET UG 2024 counselling. This round is aimed at filling vacant seats in medical and dental colleges after the conclusion of the extended Stray Vacancy Round. The registration process begins from November 25, 2024, 11 AM onwards.

Key Highlights of the Counselling Process

  • Fresh Registration and Fee Payment:
    • Eligible candidates, including those who did not report during the extended Stray Vacancy Round, can register and pay the counselling fee again.
  • Eligibility for Participation:
    • Candidates not allotted seats in previous rounds or those failing to report are eligible to participate with fresh registration and fee payment.
    • Those who do not join seats allotted in this round will be debarred from appearing for NEET UG 2025.
  • Fresh Choice Filling:
    • All candidates must complete fresh choice filling and locking. Previous choices will not be considered. Choice filling will be available from 4 PM on November 28, 2024, until midnight on November 29, 2024.

Important Guidelines

  1. For Candidates Already Registered with MCC:
    • No fresh registration will be allowed; only candidates who have completed earlier registration and fee payment are eligible.
    • Candidates must furnish an undertaking during choice filling, ensuring compliance with rules regarding seat joining and potential penalties.
  2. Refundable Security Deposit:
    • ₹50,000 for government seat participation.
    • ₹3,00,000 for deemed university seat participation.
    • Deposits will be forfeited if a candidate fails to join the allotted seat.
  3. Eligibility Restrictions:
    • Candidates holding seats in previous rounds or those who did not register earlier are ineligible.
  4. Penalty for Non-Joining
    • Candidates failing to join the allotted seat will forfeit their security deposit and be barred from taking NEET UG 2025.
