WBCHSE Implements Changes in West Bengal HS Question Paper 2024 Introduces New Subjects

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has introduced major changes in the curriculum by introducing a new semester system, subjects and changes in question paper for West Bengal HS students. These changes will be effective from the academic session 2024-25.

Following the changes, the difficulty level of the WB Board HS Exam 2024 Question Papers will be divided into three levels. The WB HS Question Papers 2024 will have 50% of basic and simple questions and 30% questions will cover complex topics. The remaining 20% of the question paper will be comparatively tough.

West Bengal HS Question Paper 2024 to Cover Logical and Analytical Questions

Informing about the changes in West Bengal HS Exam Pattern 2024, the examination board shared that 20% of the questions will be added to test the logical and analytical skills of students in subjects. The weightage for these questions is yet to be announced.

The questions will be covered in various formats such as multiple-choice questions, fill-in-the-blanks, column matching, assertion-reasoning type, diagram-based questions, rearrangement of sentences on prescribed sequence, true and false type questions, and case-based questions.

The West Bengal HS Syllabus 2024 will now be distributed in three semesters. The Semester 1 and three examinations will carry a total of 35 marks, while the practical and project-based subjects will carry 40 marks. 20 marks will be awarded for music and visual arts subjects.

New Subjects in West Bengal HS Syllabus 2024

In addition to changes in West Bengal HS Question Paper 2024, the exam board has introduced new subjects in the curriculum for students. These subjects include applied artificial intelligence, cyber security, and science of well-being as well as vocational subjects like Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFIV), Food Processing (FDPV), and Telecom (TELV).

From this year onwards, the exam board has discontinued three subjects (Punjabi, French, and Gujarati) due to the decrease in registrations. Check the new subjects added to the West Bengal HS Syllabus in the table below:
