WBMCC has released the WB NEET UG 2026 Round 1 merit list and seat matrix at wbmcc.nic.in. Choice filling is open till August 22 2026 for state quota MBBS and BDS seats. Log in and lock preferences before the deadline.
The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has released the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 Round 1 provisional merit list on wbmcc.nic.in. The Round 1 seat matrix is also live on the same portal. Choice filling has opened for eligible candidates on August 19, 2026. The window will remain active until August 22, 2026.
WBMCC conducts online counselling for the 85 percent state quota seats. This covers MBBS and BDS courses across government and private colleges. Only NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates with West Bengal domicile can lock preferences. Non-domicile candidates may compete for Management and NRI seats in private colleges.
Registered candidates must review the merit list and seat matrix before locking choices. The preference order directly decides how seats get allotted against a candidate's rank. Choices that remain unlocked at the deadline will auto-lock as per the bulletin.

Who Can Fill Choices in WB NEET UG 2026 Round 1?
Only candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 and completed WBMCC registration are eligible. For the 85 percent state quota MBBS and BDS seats, applicants must hold a valid West Bengal domicile. Domicile must be proved through Proforma A1, A2 or B as prescribed in the bulletin.
Non-domicile candidates cannot access the state quota pool. However, they may compete for Management and NRI Quota seats in private colleges. All applicants must have paid the counselling fee before choice filling opens.

How to Fill Choices for WB NEET UG 2026 Round 1?
Candidates must log in to the WBMCC portal using their NEET UG 2026 roll number. The choice filling tab opens once registration and fee payment are complete. Applicants can select colleges and courses from the published seat matrix.
Follow these steps to complete the process:
- Visit wbmcc.nic.in and click on the UG Medical and Dental link.
- Log in using your registered credentials and password.
- Open the Choice Filling and Locking tab on the dashboard.
- Select preferred colleges and courses from the seat matrix.
- Arrange the choices in your order of preference.
- Lock the choices and download the confirmation slip.

Unlocked choices will be locked automatically at the closing time on August 22, 2026. Once locked, choices cannot be edited during Round 1.

WBMCC controls 85 percent of the MBBS and BDS seats in West Bengal. The remaining 15 percent All India Quota seats are handled by the MCC. State quota rounds therefore decide the bulk of medical admissions in the state.

- Verify your registration details and check your merit list rank.
- Study the Round 1 seat matrix for MBBS and BDS options.

The Round 1 seat allotment result is expected within August 22, 2026 on wbmcc.nic.in. Allotted candidates must then complete document verification and physical reporting at the assigned college.
