DME Tamil Nadu has announced a Special Stray Vacancy Round for MDS courses. The registration window will be closed on 17, 2024.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Chennai, has released the schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round to fill seats in Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programs across Tamil Nadu for the 2024-2025 academic year. This round will allocate unfilled seats across government and private self-financing dental colleges, including those under minority and NRI quotas.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates without a seat in the All India or State Quota are eligible.

  • Those already enrolled in any MDS programme via prior counselling rounds are ineligible.

  • Applicants who declined previous seat offers from Round 3 onwards are also disqualified.

Registration Fees

  • Government Quota: ₹1,00,000 refundable deposit

  • Management Quota: ₹2,00,000 refundable deposit

  • All candidates must pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₹1,000.

Procedure Highlights

  • The candidates are permitted to fill the choices for both the government and management quota seats, provided one has applied for both.

  • The choice-filling process is flexible. One can make many edits to lock the choices at last. In case one locks their choices, there is no way to make any changes.

  • Tuition fees have to be paid online to download the allocation order.

Reporting and Documentation

The selected candidates are requested to report in person to the college where they have been allotted and to carry original certificates along with scanned copies for verification. If reporting is not done within the stipulated time, the admission will be cancelled and the security deposit will be refunded.

The selection committee has informed that no direct communication will be sent to the candidate, and only the state-wise, college-wise, and category-wise status list is available on official portals.
