SPPU Hosts Seminar Exploring Role of Lifelong Learning in Advancing Education; Check Details Here

New Delhi: With the objective of promoting education and narrowing the divide between traditional academia and a more extensive knowledge spectrum, the Lifelong Learning and Extension Department at Savitribai Phule Pune University recently organized a thoughtfully designed seminar. 

Under the theme 'National Education Policy 2020: Bridging the Education Gap through Extension Initiatives,' the SPPU seminar provided an insightful examination of the essential role of lifelong learning within the framework of the evolving educational landscape.

The seminar, notable for its well-organized execution, benefited from the valuable insights of the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Suresh Gosavi, who serves as the Vice-Chancellor of SPPU Faculty.

Furthermore, the event was honored by the attendance of the Guest of Honor, Dr. Sanjeevan Adsur, the Vice-Chancellor of Spicer Adventist University in Pune, and Dr. Parag Kalkar, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of SPPU. The Director of the Lifelong Studies and Extension Department, Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, was also present. 

To initiate the seminar, Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav delivered a comprehensive introduction to the New Education Policy, highlighting its role in broadening the horizons of knowledge. He also illuminated the diverse initiatives pursued by colleges over the year, underscoring the practical implementation of the policy.

In his address, Dr. Parag Kalkar stressed the importance of extending education beyond the confines of conventional classrooms. He underscored the new education policy's focus on skill-oriented education, which aligns with the evolving requirements of today's generation.

Dr. Sanjeevan Adsur stressed the crucial role that educators hold in the successful implementation of the new education policy, recognizing their pivotal contribution to molding the future of education.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic involvement from program coordinators representing different colleges affiliated with SPPU in Pune, Nagar, and Nashik. They provided valuable perspectives on the new educational policy and engaged in discussions about the diverse activities slated for implementation within their respective institutions during the academic year.

The adept management of this seminar by the Lifelong Learning and Extension Department offered attendees an expanded view of the changing educational scenario. Prof. Dr. Minal Bhosle skillfully oversaw its proceedings, showcasing her proficiency in hosting such events. 

Prof. Dr. P. V. Gupta expressed appreciation to all participants and recognized their joint endeavors in ensuring the event's remarkable success.
