SIBM Pune and Swansea University UK Jointly Host Seminars on Exploring The Metaverse; Check Details Here

New Delhi: Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune and Swansea University, UK have jointly hosted a seminar series on the theme of ‘The Digital Future for Business & Society: Emerging Perspectives on The Metaverse’. 

As per SIBM Pune, the series was organised with the aim of exploring the potential of the metaverse and its implications for various aspects of business and society. Dr Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor, SIBM Pune, and Dr Anabel Gutierrez Senior Lecturer in Digital Marketing at Royal Holloway, University of London moderated the seminar.
 

The series is still ongoing and the final seminar is scheduled to be held on November 8, 2023. The event will be attended by Professor Neeraj Pandey, from IIM Mumbai (formerly known as NITIE, Mumbai) who will lead a discussion on “Monetizing the Metaverse: Opportunities and the Path Ahead”.

This seminar is jointly organized by Yogesh K Dwivedi, Professor of Digital Marketing and Innovation at School of Management, Swansea University; Dr Laurie Hughes, Senior Lecturer at Strategic Operations Group, School of Management, Swansea University and Prof. Dr Ramakrishnan Raman, Director of SIBM Pune.

In addition to this, the seminar was supported by Digital Marketing and Analytics SIG Academy of Marketing, Grenoble IAE-Graduate School of Management – a Grenoble INP School of the University of Grenoble Alpes, e-Business and e-Government SIG British Academy of Management and UK Academy for Information Systems (UKAIS). 

Dr Ariana Polyviou from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus and Professor Ilias O. Pappas from the University of Agder in Norway delivered their presentation at the 12th seminar, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the discussion. 

The presentation's theme, "Chasing Metaverses: Reflecting on Existing Literature to Understand the Business Value of Metaverses," provoked discussion and shed light on the many opportunities and problems that exist in this quickly developing digital space.

The series was attended by Dr Ariana Polyviou. Assistant Professor of Information Systems Management at School of Business of the University of Nicosia, Cyprus; Prof. Ilias Pappas, Professor of Information Systems at Department of Information Systems, University of Agder (UiA), Norway, Prof. Ramakrishnan Raman and Prof. Yogesh Kumar Diwedi among others.
