Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna has appointed Professor Faizan Mustafa as its next Vice-Chancellor (VC). Professor Mustafa formerly served as VC of the institution's National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR).

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, Professor Faizan Mustafa has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna on July 18, 2023. Professor Mustafa will replace Dr Mridula Mishra, the departing CNLU Vice-Chancellor.

Dr Mustafa formerly held the positions of Dean and Registrar at Aligarh Muslim University. He was formerly the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research's vice-chancellor as well as the NLU Odisha's first vice-chancellor.

Professor Mustafa's appointment as the new CNLU Patna VC followed the recommendations of the search committee, which was chaired by Former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.

Professor Mustafa graduated from AMU with a BA LLB degree, an LLM in Criminal Law, and a PhD in Copyright Law. Additionally, he has a diploma from the International Institute of Human Rights in International and Comparative Human Rights Law.

Professor Mustafa has a distinguished career as he worked in a number of positions, including Visiting Faculty at Kautilya School of Public Policy and Director of KIIT School of Law. He is a gold medalist in LLM program and has written multiple books and published both national and international articles.

He also won the SAARC's Best Law Teacher Award in 2014 and is a recipient of Shah Waliullah International Award from the Institute of Objective Studies in New Delhi for his essay on "Constitutionalism in Islamic Perspective."

Additionally, Professor Mustafa has received Fulbright Fellowship and Commonwealth Scholarship. The well-known legal educator has given lectures in as many as 32 nations. He also manages Faizan Maustafa's Legal Awareness WebSeries YouTube channel, which has more than 700,000 members.
