NIRF Rankings 2024

New Delhi: The 9th Edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024 is officially announced by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on August 12, 2024. The NIRF Rankings, released annually, evaluate and rank higher education institutions across India based on several criteria.

This year, the NIRF introduced three new categories: Open Universities, Skill Universities, and State-funded Universities. These additions expand the scope of the rankings, which previously included categories such as universities, colleges, research institutions, and various professional fields. The NIRF is also planning to introduce a new category focused on sustainability in 2025.

The methodology for the NIRF rankings is developed by a Core Committee set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The rankings are based on several broad parameters, including teaching, learning, and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.
