The National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2026 registration deadline has been extended to May 5, 2026. Candidates who wish to apply for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programs can now submit their applications through the extended deadline. The registration portal is open at nimcet.admissions.nic.in for eligible candidates. The extension provides additional time for candidates to complete their application process. An application correction window has been scheduled from May 7 to 9, 2026 for candidates to edit their submitted applications.

NIMCET 2026 is a national-level entrance examination for admission to MCA programs offered by 11 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and 2 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). The participating NITs include Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Meghalaya, Patna, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal. The participating IIITs are Bhopal and Vadodara. The NIMCET 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 6, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM as a computer-based test.

How to Apply for NIMCET 2026?

  • Fill in your personal details including name, email, and mobile number.
  • Create a secure password for your account.

  • Upload your recent passport-size photograph and signature as per specifications.

Eligibility Criteria for NIMCET 2026

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university to be eligible for NIMCET 2026. Candidates appearing for their final year bachelor's degree examination are also eligible to apply, provided they submit their results before the admission process begins. There is no age limit for applying to NIMCET 2026. Candidates from all categories including General, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD are eligible to participate. The minimum eligibility criteria must be met at the time of admission to the MCA program.

Different NITs and IIITs may have specific eligibility requirements, and candidates should verify the detailed eligibility criteria in the Information Brochure. Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before submitting their applications. The admission to MCA programs is based solely on the rank obtained in NIMCET 2026. NIMCET 2026 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The NIMCET 2026 examination will be conducted as a computer-based test consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions. The exam duration is 2 hours (120 minutes). Each question carries 1 mark, making the total marks 120. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The syllabus covers topics from Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English.
