New Delhi: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has released a set of procedures to allocate seats for NIFT admissions 2023 on its official website, nift.ac.in.
Candidates who have qualified the NIFT 2023 exam on February 5, can review the documents requirements and guidelines for seat allocation. While filling out campus and course preferences during registration for seat allocation, the NIFT has urged candidates to select the maximum number of selections.
According to the NIFT notification, while deciding the course and campus selections, candidates are advised to consider the options based on their CMR. The NIFT seat allocation portal has the opening and closing cut-off ranks from previous years available for candidates' reference.
After each round of allocation, candidates are required to review the NIFT provisional seat assignment letter and pay the online seat acceptance fee to ensure their places. The "upgrade," "slide," or "freeze" options are also available to candidates. If an applicant is awaiting assignment to a school or course with higher priority in a later round, they must not use the "freeze" option.
NIFT Admissions 2023: Seats Available, Candidate Preference
The institute has informed that only the campuses and courses chosen by the candidate will be taken into consideration. Candidates who have not applied for a particular campus will not be admitted there, even if the campuses have open seats. Even if the applicant otherwise qualifies based on the merit list, the criterion still holds.
Further, the institute has instructed candidates who qualify for the Kashmiri quota to indicate their preference for NIFT Srinagar.
The NIFT notice states that the candidates should note that unfilled EWS, OBC, and domicile seats may become available for open category candidates in subsequent rounds.
Candidates are urged to confirm their eligibility for academic programmes offered at their home campus and indicate their preferences if applicable.
NIFT Seat Allocation 2023: Documents Required
Candidates will be required to carry the following documents mentioned below for the NIFT seat allocation 2023.
- An undertaking regarding anti-ragging
- An undertaking regarding the refund of fee
- Medical certificate
- Non-resident Indians have also been cautioned by the institute that there is an additional price for NRI sponsored seats.
- Candidates who plan to apply for NRI-sponsored positions must submit documentation from their NRI sponsor.
- Candidates should ensure that any category documents have been validated. Reservation benefits can only be used if the appropriate category documents have been verified.
The NTA notice revealed that candidates shouldn't fake/ forge any documents. Otherwise, their admission will be canceled (at any stage - even after joining) and legal action may also be taken.
