NEET SS 2024 Exam Pattern Revised: Key Changes Explained

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET SS) 2024 Scheme of examination or exam pattern has undergone a significant revision. The new pattern is aimed at simplifying the exam structure and making it more focused.

NEET SS is the qualifying exam for admission into various DM/MCh and DNB super-specialty courses in India. NEET SS 2024 is to be conducted on March 29 and March 30, 2025, tentatively.

NEET SS 2024: Key Changes in the Exam Pattern

The major key changes include separate question papers for two groups of specializations. The exam structure remains unchanged for other specialties. Also,  Qualifying feeder qualifications must adhere to PGMER 2023 regulations. Mentioned below are the key changes made to the NEET SS 2024 Exam Pattern. 

 Focus on Core Specialties:

1. For admissions to DM/DrNB Medical Oncology, there shall be a separate Question Paper Group (Medical Oncology Group). The questions in the paper of this group shall be exclusively from the topics of Medical Oncology. 

2. For admissions to DM/DrNB Critical Care Medicine, there shall be a separate Question Paper Group (Critical Care Medicine Group). The questions in the paper of this group shall be exclusively from the topics of Critical Care Medicine. 

Also note that the rest of the NEET SS 2024 scheme of examination shall continue to be the same for all groups. 

NEET SS 2024: Eligibility and Application Process

The eligibility criteria for NEET SS 2024 remains the same. NEET SS 2024 aspirants must hold a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant specialty.
