MPBSE Scraps 21 Vocational Subjects for Classes 11,12 in Madhya Pradesh; Check Details Here

Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has removed 21 vocational subjects for Classes 11 and 12 due to the lack of teachers.

In a media report, MPBSE stated that the board has decided to remove 21 subjects from the list of vocational subjects including Dairy Science, Photography, and Fashion Designing.

A formal notification has been issued by MPBSE stating that the board has planned to make some changes to the list of subjects available to students as part of syllabus rationalization for classes 9 to 12.

The board has announced that the vocation examination will not be conducted for class 11 as well as class 12 in the academic year 2020 - 2021 from the following years.

NEP 2020: Push for Vocational Subjects

Many educators and experts were surprised by the Madhya Pradesh Board’s sudden decision to remove 21 subjects for the class 11 and 12.

Major push was given for skill development in National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Vocational subjects are considered to help the students to develop their basic skills. 

Vocational subjects help the students to become employable quicker because of their nature. But the board decided to remove 21 vocational subjects even after the importance it gained because of the new NEP 2020.
