Mewar University has opened PhD admissions for January 2026 across disciplines with fellowships up to ₹40,000 monthly.

Mewar University, Chittorgarh, has officially announced the call for PhD admissions for the January 2026 batch for both Indian and international candidates. Admissions are open for full-time and part-time PhD programmes across multiple disciplines.
The Mewar University will conduct its own entrance examination followed by interviews for eligible applicants. Selected candidates may receive fellowships or teaching assistantships of up to ₹40,000 per month. The application process has already begun, and candidates must carefully follow the submission instructions and deadlines.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in the relevant field. Applicants with a four-year bachelor’s degree with minimum 75% marks are eligible for full-time PhD only. M.Phil. degree holders with 55% marks are also eligible. Relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (NCL), EWS, and differently-abled candidates as per UGC norms. Foreign applicants must submit an AIU equivalence certificate.
Admission is based on the Mewar University PhD Entrance Test (MUPET) followed by an interview. The entrance test carries 100 marks, divided equally between research methodology and subject-specific MCQs, with no negative marking. Candidates scoring 50% or more (with relaxation for reserved categories) qualify for the interview. The interview carries 50 marks, and candidates must present a 1,000-word research proposal during document verification.
