MCC has opened Round 1 choice filling for NEET UG 2026 counselling from 12 noon on August 8 2026 at mcc.nic.in. Candidates can lock choices till 11 AM on August 13 2026. Round 1 seat allotment result will be released on August 17 2026.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 Round 1 choice filling window. The facility goes live at 12:00 noon on August 8, 2026. Candidates can access it on the official portal at mcc.nic.in. The window was earlier scheduled to open on August 6, 2026. MCC postponed the launch by two days through a fresh notice.
Only candidates who have completed Round 1 registration can fill choices. They can select preferred medical, dental and nursing colleges. The choice filling window will close at 11:00 AM on August 13, 2026.
Candidates must also lock their final choices within the counselling schedule. Choice locking opens at 4:00 PM on August 12, 2026. The locking window closes at 11:00 AM on August 13, 2026. Choices not locked will be auto-locked by the system.
The Round 1 counselling covers seats under the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ). It also fills seats in AIIMS, JIPMER and ESIC medical colleges. Central Universities, Deemed Universities and AFMC Pune are also part of the process.

How to Fill Choices for MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1?
The entire choice filling process runs online through the MCC portal. Candidates should complete it in a stable internet session.
- Visit the official portal at mcc.nic.in.
- Click on the UG Medical Counselling link on the home page.
- Log in using your NEET UG 2026 roll number and password.
- Open the choice filling section from the candidate dashboard.
- Add preferred colleges and courses to your choice list.
- Arrange the entries in strict order of your preference.
- Save the list and review each entry once.
- Lock the final choice list before 11:00 AM on August 13.
- Download and print the locked choice list for records.
How Are Seats Allotted After Choice Locking?
MCC will process the allotment between August 13 and August 16, 2026. The system runs on merit and locked preferences. Candidates get one seat based on their NEET UG rank and choice order.
The Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on August 17, 2026. Allotted candidates must then report to the allotted college. Reporting will be open from August 18 to August 22, 2026.
