MANIT PhD students can get a three-year scholarship (Fellowship). If they perform well, this scholarship can be extended up to a maximum of five years. This rule applies to both the Full-Time Institute and Part-Time Project admission categories.

The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, has begun the application process for its PhD programs (Full Time and Part Time) for the Winter Session of November-December 2025.
The application fee is Rs. 1500 for General and OBC categories, and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST and PwD candidates. The last date to submit applications is November 27, 2025.
Candidates applying for the Full-time PhD program at MANIT will have a written test and interview on December 4. Part-time candidates’ interviews will be held on December 9. Results will be announced on December 15. The classes start as per the academic calendar. Candidates can apply online at the institute’s official portal manit.ac.in.

Candidates applying for PhD programs at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, must have a graduation or master's degree in a relevant discipline. For full-time positions with institute fellowship or JRF, candidates should have at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in their master's degree with NET/GATE qualification or 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA in their bachelor's degree with GATE qualification.
Part-time applicants should have a master's degree with at least 60% marks. SC/ST/PWD candidates get an additional relaxation of 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA.
GATE/NET qualifications are not mandatory, but can help in relaxing the written test or interview requirements.
