New Delhi: Mahindra University recently held its 2nd Annual Convocation on August 5, 2023, at its campus. In the event, the university community gathered to honour and recognize the achievements of fresh graduates. 

The 2nd Graduation Ceremony of Mahindra University shows how much the University cares about helping students learn, become leaders, and develop a vibrant economic community. 

Since it started, Mahindra University has been working hard to change the education system and develop creative individuals who can make the world better with what they know and can do. This year, a group of 3 PhD students, 22 M.Tech students, and 262 B.Tech students finished their graduation.

At the Convocation, esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and prominent industry experts gathered together to encourage and felicitate the students who were finishing their studies. Anand Mahindra, Chancellor of Mahindra University, was there, along with Chief Guest Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao from GMR Group and Guest of Honour, Ronnie Screwvala from upGrad. 

Other important dignitaries like Vineet Nayyar, Chairman MEI; Mohit Joshi, MD and CEO Designate of Tech Mahindra; CP Gurnani, Board of Management, Mahindra University, Managing Director and CEO of Tech Mahindra; Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice-Chancellor, Mahindra University, and other board members were also present to share this special moment with the graduating students.

Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, the Chairman of GMR Group who was the Chief Guest while giving his speech on the convocation, stated that “I strongly recommend everyone to behave like a student throughout life; learning attitude is a combination of curiosity, humanity, a strong sense of belief and a value system”. He further encouraged the fresh graduates to go beyond their comfort zone and explore newer opportunities.

The Guest of Honour, Ronnie Screwvala, Chairman of upGrad shared his 6 super skills while addressing the students, namely, change, curiosity, clarity, connection, choice, and conviction. He said, “The students must develop these 6Cs as they enter the phase of lifelong learning”. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of how we learn and who we learn from. Asking students to constantly reflect on improving the lives of others around them, he urged them to develop a sense of empathy and redefine their own success.”
