Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) has released the admission schedule for its PhD Programme in the Department of Library & Information Science. Eligible candidates must visit the Department of Library and Information Science Mahatma, Buddha Parisar, Motihari for document verification scheduled for January 20, 2025.

MGCU PhD Documents Required
Candidates seeking admission to Mahatma Gandhi Central University are required to appear in person and bring the original and a set of attested photocopies of the below-mentioned documents :
- Copy of the online application form submitted
- Mark sheets and certificates of 10th and 12th grades
- Mark sheet and certificate of Graduation and Post-Graduation, if applicable
- All original certificates (including NET Category I, II & III) and mark sheets
- Five recent passport-size photographs
- Self-attested copy of AADHAR card
- Original certificates of Extra Co-Curricular Activities, if any
- Bank account details (Account No., IFSC Code, Account holder’s name, and Bank address)
- Character Certificate from the Head of the last attended Institution
- Transfer/Migration Certificate (original) from the last institution/university attended
- Affidavit for a gap period of over three years, if applicable, on INR100/- stamp paper
- SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS Certificate, as per GOI rules, wherever applicable
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Employers, if applicable
- Anti-ragging forms signed by both the student and parent/guardian
MGCU PhD Important Instructions
- Provisional admission shall be strictly based on a merit list derived from the composite score of Marks of the Entrance Test and Marks of Interview/Viva-voce
- Candidates are required to report personally on the scheduled date and time to the venue along with required documents
- Candidates are required to make a presentation on a Research Proposal before the Department Research Committee (DRC) during the interview
- Merely obtaining the cut-off percentile does not guarantee admission
- Candidates must report in person with original documents on the scheduled date; failure to do so will forfeit their provisional admission
- The candidates shall be required to pay the fees through the Samarth portal after the final provisional result declaration
- Candidates who miss the payment deadline will lose provisional admission, and the seat will go to the next candidate on the merit/waiting list
- No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in Interview-cum-Admission for admission to the above programme
