KEAM 2024: Stray Vacancy Allotment Schedule Announced for MBBS/BDS Seats

The Kerala Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) has announced the schedule for the stray vacancy allotment for MBBS and BDS courses under KEAM 2024. This phase aims to fill seats left vacant in government and self-financing medical colleges after the third allotment round. Eligible candidates included in the Kerala State Medical Rank List can register their options online until October 27, 2024, 11:59 PM.

Allotment Process and Key Guidelines

The online option registration for stray vacancy allotment opened on October 25, 2024. Interested candidates can submit their preferences through the CEE website by selecting the “Stray Vacancy Option Registration” menu. Seats remaining vacant after this phase will be converted as per the existing rules outlined in the KEAM prospectus.

Candidates who already secured seats in the earlier rounds or through AIQ (All India Quota) counselling are ineligible. The allotment made in this phase will be final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.

Penalty for Non-Compliance

Candidates failing to join after receiving an allotment will face strict penalties: ₹10 lakh for MBBS and ₹5 lakh for BDS seats, irrespective of financial or reservation status. Additionally, they could be debarred from future entrance exams and CEE allotments for up to two years. Non-payment of penalties may lead to recovery through legal action.
