The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has announced shortlisting criteria and key instructions for students seeking admission to its PhD program in Quantum Science and Technology. Candidates who have their names on the list will receive an email at their registered email address with information about their interview dates and times.

Candidates seeking admission to the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi PhD in Quantum Science and Technologies must follow the selection criteria outlined below.

  • Academic Qualifications: Strong background in quantum-related disciplines.
  • National Level Exams: Must qualify GATE, NET, or equivalent.
  • Shortlisting: Based on GATE/NET scores and academic performance.
  • CFTI Exemption: CGPA ≥ 9.0 may skip the GATE requirement.
  • Interview: Assesses research aptitude and subject knowledge.
  • Final Selection: Considers academics, exams, and interview results.

Candidates qualifying for IIT Mandi Ph.D. Quantum Science & Technologies program must follow the instructions mentioned below:

  • All shortlisted candidates will receive separate communications with additional information about the selection process. If you have not received any correspondence, please email cqstoffice@iitmandi.ac.in.
  • If you meet the shortlisting criteria but your name is not on the list, please contact @cqstoffice@iitmandi.ac.in with necessary proof within ten days of the shortlisting list being shown on the website.
  • Applications containing incomplete data/information are rejected. If you do not meet the shortlisting criteria outlined above, despite being on the list of shortlisted candidates, please notify us promptly at @cqstoffice@iitmandi.ac.in with information regarding your application. If this is the case, your candidature will not be evaluated further.
  • Interview mode: online. Joining link will be provided on the registered email.

IIT Mandi Ph.D. Quantum Science & Technologies Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be eligible as per the below-mentioned criteria to be admitted to the IIT Mandi PhD in Quantum Science and Technologies program.

  • Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 8.7 (on a scale of 10) in both UG and PG degrees, and they must meet one of the exemptions specified in the advertising.
  • CFTI candidates must have a CGPA of at least 9.0 in the relevant topic from their B.Tech./B.E. degree.

IIT Mandi Ph.D. Quantum Science & Technologies Documents Required:

The table below lists the documentation that candidates must submit when applying for admission to the IIT Mandi PhD in Quantum Science and Technologies program.

  • All of your original certifications and self-attested photocopies (beginning with Class X).
  • Certificate for passing GATE, NET, CSIR, UGC, or JEST exams.
  • Members of the SC, ST, OBC, OBC-NCL, and General EWS groups must produce a certificate of eligibility.OBC-NCL/EWS certifications should be awarded during the current fiscal year.
  • Any additional papers, such as an experience certificate
  • One passport-sized photograph and an updated resume

Every document must be self-attested before it may be uploaded. The relevant authority's decision on a candidate's eligibility, written exam/interview, and admission is final and binding on all candidates. The Institute's decision is final in the event of any disagreement or confusion during the admissions process.
