IIT Madras placed 50% of students in phase I placements with increased core sector and international job offers, securing a median salary of over Rs 19 lakh.

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has concluded the initial phase of its placement drive despite the challenges due to Cyclone Michaung. The commencement marked a record-breaking start with a surge in job offers on day one. As per official reports, 55% of the placed students belonged to socially and economically challenging backgrounds.
In the first placement phase, IIT Madras experienced substantial growth in core sector hiring and an impressive increase in international job offers for postgraduate students compared to the previous year. Companies participating in Phase I IIT Madras Placements offered a median salary exceeding INR 19 LPA, portraying the robustness of the process. Nearly 50% of students secured job offers in placements, the institute is gearing up for Phase II, inviting new recruiters to join.
