IIT Kanpur Joins Forces with UP Govt SIDBI and StartinUP for 25 Year UP Startup Hub Initiative

New Delhi: The Government of UP has collaborated with the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and StartinUP with the aim to make Uttar Pradesh a startup hub in India within the next 25 years.

This initiative was announced at an event named “Amrit Kaal for Uttar Pradesh Startups- Roadmap for 25 Years,” which witnessed the face-to-face interactions between startups, key fund managers, and GoUP officials. The motive behind the event was to foster the culture of startups and bolster the ecosystem in UP through capital funding.

On this occasion, the CEO of AIIDE CoE at IIT Kanpur, Nikhil Agarwal, and the Professor in Charge of the Start-up Incubation and Innovation Centre at IIT Kanpur, Ankush Sharma, guided participants on how to take advantage of the present surge in the state's startup scene.

Additionally, venture investors and startup founders from Lal10, Getwork, University Living, SVAS Fund, IAN Fund, Alkemi, Blume Venture, and Chiratae Venture talked about Uttar Pradesh's potential as a startup cluster. They exchanged ideas and recommendations on how to improve the state's startup ecosystem and raise venture capital funding.

Earlier, the SIDBI and the Government of Uttar Pradesh collaborated before to establish over 60 incubators and centers of excellence in the last two years. They also provided infrastructure development and financial support to grow the ecosystem.
