IIT Kanpur Hosts 2nd Edition of Institute Research Symposium (IRS'23); Check Details Here

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur’s Academics and Career Council, Student's Gymkhana have successfully organised the second edition of the Institute Research Symposium (IRS). The event recorded a participation of approximately 500 students.

During the IIT Kanpur IRS'23, three prominent speakers delivered significant insights into different aspects of academic and scientific achievement. Prof. Y. N. Mohapatra from the Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur began the symposium with a discussion on 'Interdisciplinary Research in the Present World".

In his speech, Prof. Mohapatra shared his broad expertise and emphasised the significance of crossing disciplinary boundaries in order to conduct groundbreaking research.

IIT Kanpur Institute Research Symposium 2023 Highlights

On this occasion, Dr Sandip Patil, IIT Kanpur alumnus and Founder and CEO of E-Spin Nanotech Pvt Ltd delivered a captivating presentation on "Nanofiber Technology and its Commercial Applications: Future Startups”. He offered his insights on the commercial potential of nanofiber technology and its role in fostering startup ventures.

Prof. Kantesh Balani, Dean of Resources & Alumni of IIT Kanpur gave a presentation on “Engineering Various Applications of Advanced Nanomaterials”. Prof. Balani's presentation shed light on the myriad applications of advanced nanomaterials across diverse fields, underscoring their transformative potential in technology and industry.

Speakers of IIT Kanpur Institute Research Symposium 2023

The symposium was attended by distinguished figures of IIT Kanpur including Prof. S. Ganesh, Officiating Director of IIT Kanpur, Prof. Sameer Khandekar, Dean of Students Affairs of IIT Kanpur, Prof. Shalabh, Dean of Academic Affairs of IIT Kanpur. 

Additionally, Prof. S. N. Tripathi, Organizing Chair, Institute Research Symposium, IIT Kanpur; Prof. Arnab Bhattacharya, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, IIT Kanpur; and Prof. Ark Verma, Faculty Advisor, Academics and Career Council, IIT Kanpur were also present at the event.

Earlier, the first edition of IIT Kanpur Institute Research Symposium 2023 was organised from January 7 to 8 for PG and UG students of IIT Kanpur. Participants from various engineering, sciences, and humanities disciplines showcased their research to the larger community.
