IIT Kanpur Celebrates 64 Years of Excellence, 22 Recipients Felicitated; Check Details Here

New Delhi: IIT Kanpur celebrated its 64th Anniversary in a grand event that brought together the past, present, and future of this prestigious institute.

The event had Abhay Karandikar as its chief guest, who is the secretary of the Department of Science and Technology and the former Director of the IIT Kanpur Faculty. 

The event started on November 1, 2023, with the 'Antarang', a cultural show put on by IIT Kanpur students, and there is also an exhibition by Appreciation and Promotion of Art, Culture, and Heritage (APPROACH Cell).

The event concluded with a Kathak performance by Rajendra Gangani, a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.

During the second day of the IIT Kanpur Foundation Day celebration, S Ganesh, the officiating director, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the institute's achievements and introducing the recently launched eMasters Program in E-Mobility and Renewable Energy.

He also mentioned about the initiatives in the field of research and academia, including the establishment of The Mehta Family Centre for Engineering in Medicine, the plan for a School of Sustainability, and the recent collaboration with the Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute.

A total of 22 individuals received awards in various categories, including Distinguished Alumnus Awards, Institute Fellows, Distinguished Service Awards, Young Alumnus Awards, and the Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award. Here is the list of awardees.
