IIT Jammu Introduces B.Tech in Mathematics & Computing to Link Mathematics and AI; Check the Details Here

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has unveiled a new undergraduate program, B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing. This program will equip students with a strong foundation in both mathematics and computing, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in the rapidly evolving field of AI.

IIT Jammu recognized the intricate connection between the two fields of study and also the growing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Science (DU). According to the spokesperson at IIT Jammu, "The main objective of the course is to empower young minds to contribute to its revolutionary advancements".

"The B.Tech in Mathematics & Computing program is a four-year course designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the interdependence between Mathematics and Computer Science".

He added that the Students would delve into diverse areas such as statistics, real and complex analysis, and optimization techniques. "Simultaneously, they will receive a robust education in fundamental computer science topics essential for their chosen field".

This program will be flexible for the students that can personalize their learning experience by offering a plethora of electives from various domains and exploring their specific areas of interest.

As per the eligibility criteria, aspirants need to clear their class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics, a language, and an additional subject apart from the aforementioned four and the selection process will be based on the valid rank obtained in the JEE (Advanced) National Entrance Exam 2022, IIT Jammu added.

He also mentioned that the program offers immense career opportunities for graduates, positioning them as catalysts in shaping AI's future and leveraging its transformative potential in diverse industries.
