IIT Hyderabad SURE Internship 2026 Applications Open

The IIT Hyderabad has invited applications for the Summer Undergraduate Research Exposure (SURE) Internship 2026. Interested and eligible students can submit their applications online through the official portal by March 10, 2026.

The internship programme aims to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students with research exposure under the guidance of faculty members at IIT Hyderabad. A total of 250 interns will be selected, including 100 seats reserved exclusively for female candidates.

Selected interns will receive a fellowship of ₹15,000 for two months, while students opting for a shorter duration will receive ₹7,500 per month or ₹10,000 for one-and-a-half months. Participants can choose to undertake the internship for one month, one-and-a-half months, or two months.

The internship will be conducted between May and July 2026, tentatively from May 15 to July 14, 2026. The minimum internship duration is one month, while the maximum allowed duration is two months.

As per the eligibility criteria, the programme is open only to non-IIT Hyderabad students. Eligible applicants include first-year MSc or MA students, second or third-year BTech or BDes students from any branch, and third or fourth-year students of integrated BTech–MTech programmes. Candidates must also be among the top 20% of their class based on CGPA or percentage, certified by the head of their institution.

During the internship, hostel accommodation will be provided on the IIT Hyderabad campus, while mess charges will have to be borne by the interns. Applicants must be full-time students and must be able to work full-time during the internship period, as part-time or online internships are not permitted.

The selection process will involve preliminary screening of applications followed by an online interview, conducted by the respective departments or faculty mentors. The final selection will depend on academic performance, achievements beyond coursework, participation in competitions such as Olympiads or National Talent Search Exams, and interview performance.
