Candidates can now apply for IIT Hyderabad’s M.Tech January 2026 session through the official portal.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has opened applications for admission to its M.Tech programs for the January 2026 session. Interested candidates can apply online at the institute’s official portal until October 29, 2025.
Admissions are open for various departments, including regular and self-sponsored categories. Applicants must complete registration, pay the application fee, and submit the required documents before the deadline to be considered for admission.
IIT Hyderabad M.Tech Admission 2026 Registration
The online application process for IIT Hyderabad’s M.Tech programs involves several steps:
Step 1: Registration
Candidates must create a valid login ID, email address, and password. It is advised to use a personal email ID for registration, as it will be used for all future communication.
Step 2: Login
Applicants should log in using their registered credentials. Upon first login, a secret key received via email will be required for verification.
Step 3: Department Selection
After logging in, candidates need to click on ‘Click here to apply’ and choose their preferred department.
Step 4: Fill Application Details
All relevant details must be entered carefully in the application form. Candidates must click on Save/Submit after completing each section to ensure their data is stored properly. Unnecessary rows can be deleted using the symbol provided.
The application fee for IIT Hyderabad M.Tech admission varies by category. Male candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay ₹500, while SC, ST, PH, and female candidates need to pay ₹250.
For self-sponsored and online applicants, the fee is ₹500. The payment must be made through online mode only. Candidates are advised to download and securely save the fee receipt immediately after payment, as it will be required during the document verification process.
After completing the form and payment, candidates must click on ‘Submit Application’ to finalize their submission. Applications that are saved but not submitted will not be considered. A printout of the completed form should be taken for future reference.
Shortlisted applicants will be called for a written test or interview, for which they must carry:
- A printout of the application form
- Payment reference document
- Original certificates
Applicants applying to multiple departments must fill out separate applications and pay the application fee for each department individually. Updates and uploads can be made until the last date of submission.
After the application window closes on October 29, 2025, shortlisted candidates will be notified for the written test or interview round. Further details regarding the selection process and final admission list will be announced on the official website.
