IIT Goa received a remarkable 99% placement in its academic batch 2019-23. The highest package offered was 60 lakh and an average salary of ₹17.19 lakh per annum (LPA).

New Delhi: IIT Goa's BTech academic batch of 2019-2023 has achieved a remarkable 99% placement rate. Among the 105 enrolled BTech students, 104 received placement offers, securing an average annual package of ₹17.19 lakh per annum (LPA). Notably, Computer Science Engineering and Electrical Engineering achieved full placement, with all 34 and 24 students, respectively, securing positions. Similarly, all 19 students in Mathematics and Computing secured placements.

IIT Goa, established in 2016, is among India's newest additions to the IITs. Located in Farmagudi, Ponda, the institute initially operated from a temporary campus at Goa Engineering College (GEC).

However, the Mechanical Engineering batch failed to achieve a 100% placement rate. Of 34 students, 28 registered for placements, and 27 successfully secured positions. Six students received international job offers from companies such as Accenture Japan, Willings, and Linkstaff, engaging with seven international companies. The average compensation for BTech graduates stood at ₹17.19 LPA, with the highest offer reaching ₹60 LPA.

During the academic year 2022-23, 126 companies took part in the placement drive, offering positions spanning diverse domains like Software Engineering, Product Management, Research and Development, Consultancy, and Analytics. Notable recruiters included Media.Net, Amazon, Trilogy Innovation (Codenation), Paytm, ARM, Siemens, Mathworks, Mentor Graphics, Texas Instruments, AMD, Google, Intuit, Adobe, ICICI Securities, HDFC Bank, GE Aerospace, Wabtec Corporation, and Oyo Rooms.

Academic programmes

IIT Goa provides a BTech undergraduate program for students admitted through JEE (Advanced) and an MTech program for those enrolled via GATE. The BTech program comprises eight four-year semesters, featuring a unified curriculum for all branches in the initial semester.

IIT Goa offers BTech programs across four disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and, since 2019, a Mathematics & Computing program.
