IIT Gandhinagar to Organise 9th International Congress on Computational Mechanics and Simulations

News Title: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar is preparing to organise the 9th edition of International Congress on Computational Mechanics and Simulations (ICCMS 2023) from December 20 to 22, 2023. The event will be held in collaboration with the Indian Association for Computational Mechanics (IndACM).

IIT Gandhinagar's International Congress aims to develop innovative transdisciplinary solutions, which use computational mechanics and mathematical models, and are aimed at resolving real-world physical issues in a variety of disciplines.

IIT Gandhinagar 9th International Congress Key Highlights

ICCMS 2023 will mainly focus on 14 thematic areas, including Biomechanics, Computational Structural Dynamics, Numerical Methods and Algorithms in Engineering and Science, Structural Health Monitoring and Vibration Control, as well as Uncertainty Quantification and Reliability Analysis, among other significant subjects.

The event will also include two mini-symposia, one on Recent Advances in Computational Geomechanics and the other on Computational Fire Engineering. In addition, two hands-on workshops will be held on "Numerical Methods for Vibro-Impact Problems" and "Machine Learning for Scientific Computing," as well as an expert panel discussion on "Future Directions in Solid Mechanics."

Informing about the event, Prof Rajat Moona, Director, IITGN, and Patron of ICCMS 2023 said, “Computational methods play a pivotal role in the advancement of modern engineering by helping to achieve better results in designs, modelling, manufacturing, industrial operations, and so on. This conference on computational mechanics and simulations is a step in this direction, and I am very happy that IIT Gandhinagar is hosting ICCMS 2023”.
